Do you belt and strap up when doing the heavy lifts or are you a natural guy?

No straps, dont even own a pair. Sometimes ill belt up on a heavy 1rm squat/dead. Dont find it helps that much on deads, but it does on squats for me. I dont like wearing a belt all that much, but I like moving more weight haha.

If the GG didn't get you there, try Cinnamon Toast Crunch. You have to periodize or the roof of your mouth will get all torn up.

I'm like the Dead Zone guy, only with purely trivial stuff. I can tell when people are buying cereal, shopping for hats, etc. Nothing good.

I'm like this guy, but a sharper dresser...

feeling a bit better tonight. Going to workout tomorrow. Undecided if I want to do an upper/lower split or shift some workout days around. Ill go by feel. I'm not that motivated for lowerbody stuff right now, I wont lie. Feels like its not moving (even though it is). Heavy squats on sunday is a sure thing so maybe that will get me feeling it again.

Maybe. I'm built to squat for sure, other then lowbar squats hurt my shoulders after a few weeks.

Im curious to see where my PL squat is at.. I *think* I have only gone to 485lbs raw, although, it could have been 495/500. Pretty sure I could full sqsuat 485lbs now.. hmmm this could be a fun weekend.

you should film a 20 rep squat video, and try to push the weights over something like 4 weeks.

fuck that!

Im thinking some free squats in the 1-3 rep range will get me back on track pretty quick. Will be interesting to see how gaining like 75+lbs on my front squats helps.

Nothing some iron to fortify the immune system...

ALco...that's rather extreme...cool but extreme...I may try it one day along with push-ups to failure..laying prone in my basement hasn't lost all its appeal now that I'm forty.

Frank - do you pad the bar?

Ive done 20 rep squats plenty of times before.. Hard as hell, mentally very tough, and great for hypertrophy.. but for strength.. meh.

Cant say ive ever used that pad (or as I call it.. the black tampon..:p) ever. Actually, I wont even let my workout partner/girlfriend use it haha. IMO if you have to use it, the bar is on the wrong spot on your back. I'm not so sure my current gym even has those.

Workout later today.. think im going to do fullbody for today because I missed a workout. Work up to some heavy tripples on the bench for sure.

it's good in terms of strength, because it builds up your work capacity a lot, and enables you to lift more. Same idea as GPP. Jesse had a great video on his site of him doing 20 reppers that i always think of.
