or high rep stuff (sets of 20, but NOT with your 9-10RM like a lunatic)
or hell, do some sprints
orr... walk up a hill? I don't know. But ya, do something active.

ps. you were thinking 'movement preparation'.......movement preparation.
Its 5 more days, im not going to seize up in that time

Tomorrow Ill probally do a back workout because I like them. I walk a few km every day, thats active lol (and trust me, with every lb I gain, it counts more towards a 'real workout':p). If I did 20 rep work I would be dead come meet time, my body hates high rep and makes me sore for days upon days, even if its moderate weights.

Roland showed you? I thought you never made it to a summit...
What's Roland's method?
I can put my knuckles on the ground if I let my back bend, but not even close if I were to try to keep my back straight/spine neutral.

I emailed your hotmail account (I just clicked on your msn name). I realized after that it was probably the wrong account, but I didn't want to send the same email to you twice. I thought that would be weird.

I didn't think you would seize up. I'm just thinking that if I take too many days off I start to feel 'soft', like I couldn't lift a five pounder if I tried. I don't think that would be good for a meet lol.

Do you know why you have to wear a singlet? I never got that. What if I'm superstitious and want to wear my lucky shorts? What then?

Then your screwed! would be pretty hard to judge depth with baggy shorts, or see if your ass moves on the bench.

Ill check that email now + reply.

I guess its Bill Hartmans method, but LD sent it to me.

PS - clean out your PMs.. they seem to be full.

oops, sorry. I only leave room for one message because I don't want to delete everything. So if two people want to PM me, well, too bad :p lol

got my singlet and also my elitefts gear.. I'm styling now

hahaha, I ordered some chalk.. you should see how much they sent wow, its going to last me about 30 years. One pound of chalk is alot more then it sounds like!

My singlet fits good too, loose enough that if I ever learn my metal breifs, I can use them under that for a while before progressing to a full suit. That is, if those breifs still fit, not to sure. I also got some straps too, not sure why really, they where cheap and RDLs I have a hell of a time holding onto. I have no idea how to use them though. I got the spud ones, they are halarious.. I dont think im ever going to break them lol.

and about the chalk i didnt think 1 lbs was alot so i ordered 2 boxes

and the straps are good for weighted pullups, RDLs, anything with heavyweights thats at the end of the workout and you need to concentrate on the movment

Nah, idaho. Not all that far from me 5-6 hour drive. Closer then the meet in Edmonton next weekend.. I would have gone to that one but I dont like the ipf that much, have to walk out squats and pause benches for a hell of a long time :p Plus entry fees way to high.

Besides, with the way our dollar is, im staying at a real nice hotel, will get to eat great meals all weekend and it will be cheaper then traveling close by. My gf is coming too so ill have something to do if its boring everywhere.

and thanks guys!

dammit, i typed this all out once already and lost it... dont feel like typing it all out again.

shorter version:

meet was today - change of plans.
weighed in at 242lbs on the nose. I was like 249 last night, but droped weight over night (and morning ) without doing anything at all.

note - 100% raw for these lifts. Only person raw in the meet i think

squat:
410
500
530 - miss. should have had. Fell forward.

Bench:
280
331 - miss. uneven lockout.
331 - miss. bad push.

Dead
480 - fast as hell
520 - even faster
540 - even faster then even faster. LOL picked way to light of weights here.
*number may be a lb or two off, i forget the exact kgs which the meet was using.

Won - 242lbs weight class, highest overall total (everyone bombed out so bad), highest squat, best junior lifter, and best novice lifter. Got some nice trophys and such.

Squat:
-Judges told me to not squat so low
-should have easily had that third attempt. For the whole meet I have been doing highbar squats, its the only type of squat my elbow will take painfree. I am not used to these in the hole and lost it.

Bench:
-Should have had 2nd lift. Third was pretty bad, got it about 3-4 inches off my chest and lost me 'groove' and almost droped it.
-I was pausing my benches for to long in training.

Dead:
-All to easy.
-Any lockout problems ive been having, I solved them. I changed my shoes and never even thought about a lockout chucks>nike frees for deadlifts. I left probally 30-40lbs on the platform.. Will have to test this out in the future in the gym.

Good first meet overall. A few people bombed out in the squat (failed all 3 attempts) so I lucked into alot of the trophys I got, lol. Most disapointed with the bench because ive been spending so much time on it lately.

way to tear it up man! a 1320 raw total is nothing to sneeze at. A lot more than a lot can put up with gear. Do you have pictures?! post them!

i hear you on the nike frees. I was doing trap bar deadlifts at Chad's, and kept falling forward on the pulls and losing my balance because of the heel on the frees. They told me to take my shoes off and pull in socks, and it worked a ton better.

i don't get the whole barefoot thing with frees. They're not really mimicing barefoot running because they have a decent sized heel on them. Nothing like shocks or anything, but chuck t's are definitely closer to barefoot, or even flip flops.

Thanks guys, im pretty happy overall about it. Pics will come in the next day or two I imagine.

I think im going to take the next month to really rehab my elbow, if its even possible (its the one I dislocated badly a few years ago). Going to look into it. Hopefully I can put some lbs on my deadlift in this time, and maybe bench (it only bothers me with a back squat). There is a meet in march im looking at, far ahead, lots of time to improve my lifts.
