3 weeks out now

Nice, low volume (1-2 movements) like todays workout from here on in. Then its time for some nice PRs.

What order are the lifts in for the meet?

It will be fine by meet time im sure.. its good if I rest and dont squat heavy for a bit. I actually blame it on the fact that I havnt been doing curls lately

Its sqaut/bench/dead like always. Even if I tweak my arm on the squats, no big deal because its not bad until the day after.

I used to be too.. before I deadlifted 500lbs, if it broke the ground, then I had it. But now, breaking the ground is really easy and the lockout seems sooo hard. I think I need to lean back more.

maybe cut out deadlifts next week, and then 2 weeks out, work up to your openers, and then just do some mobility or light stuff the week before the meet?

I feel for you. 530's are so hard. Most of us would love that problem! Probably 6 months from now you'll be saying 600lbs is so hard!

Thats more or less the plan. Opening deadlift is around 480 I think.

Im pretty disapointed with the deads today, I figured I woul be hitting 550-560lbs pretty easy. Weight gain does not help my deadlift at all, I think it makes it worse almost. Ah well.

Ive been chasing 600lbs for what seems like way to long. I will get it, but I dont think its going to be for another 6-7 months.

You're rowing what I deadlift.

That scares me a little bit.

on the seated row machine I think im going to break it anyday now. I am using the whole stack with some other weights strapped on.. the thing creaks sooo bad. I figure the cable has got to be good to 300lbs because lots of gyms seated rows go to 300, but I really have no clue.

If that cable snapped, i wonder what would happen to me.

do you have bands?

what we do at chads is use bands and row the weights+bands, instead of adding weights to the stack.

I have bands but dont really like using them. I dont really think im advanced enough to use bands for really anything yet. Maybe in a few years. I can strap up a few lbs yet.. then ill up the reps. Not sure what to do on the DB rows though, gym only has dbs up to 150lbs and I like doing them. Guess ill have to go to real high reps when I get there or buy some platemates or something? I think the other gym here has 200lbs db's (maybe only 180), I may have to go there once in a while

I just put through a big order with elitefts (actually.. my mommy did for me hahaha) , lots of clothing and stuff. should be good. Also I bought new jeans today, im may be getting fat, 34 inch waist now I found 'extra baggy' jeans that are not baggy on me at all hah. I hate shopping at malls.

dude, using the bands for things like increasing the weight on rows is not the same as using them for big lifts.

He means the squat/dead/bench.
I'd use the bands for the seated rows, that sounds like a good idea.

Even for your db lifts. You don't have to be 'advanced' to use the principles of accommodating resistance.

I know what he means

If I was stuck in my training, yeah, it could be a good tool to use. I can still add weight to the seated row, and i got 10more lbs before I run out of DBs. I think the other gym has seated rows up to 300lbs and dbs up to 180-200 so I may just do a heavy back day there once a week if it comes down to it.

On another note.. what kind of person invented turkey pepperoni..

I bought a pack by accident. 40/cals per stick! I have to eat like 3 of them to equal one peice of real pepperoni and they taste bad.
