That's a pretty heavy log man. I couldn't even clean it to press it!

Lookie at what I signed up for today. http://www.kcstrongman.com/21801/40801.html

Gives me exactly 4 months to train. Should be a good time (getting my ass kicked)!

just picked up 2 kegs today. They're damn near impossible to find, and you can't get them in the midwest from distributors, or liquor stores because people are either recycling them, or using them for meth labs. So, i managed to get 2 after posting an add on craig's list. They cost 20 apiece, which is a lot cheaper than the deposit is now ($65/keg).

I'm going to try and fill them tonight after i get out of school (where i'm at now), and go to home depot and get some materials for it.

I love working with kegs. I have one that's half full of water, one that's full of sand, and one that's empty for tossing. Squat cleans and jerks with a keg full of water is very challenging, with the sloshing and all. I got mine off of Craigslist too. I love that site!

What type of kegs did you get and what do you need at home depot for them? i got one earlier this year, opened it right up. No need to go to home depot...unless I needed some sand (and I'm a LONG ways from needing sand.)

i went to home depot to get some pipe caps to put over the keg once i opened it. That way, i can easily open and close it again without having to take off the retaining ring, and all that jazz.

http://www.physics.arizona.edu/~work...rew/Sanke.html

and, i got one of these to seal it again:

i'll probably fill one pretty heavy with water, and then maybe sand? I already have a 150lb sandbang, so...

I just put the pipe or whatever you want to call it back into the keg. Works fine. Little water here and there but not that bad at all.

As for sand...your not going to need much. I think I full water keg is like 160+lbs, but I could be wrong. And believe me they ain't easy to lift with water sloshing around.

Post some pictures when you get them done.

see, i'm thinking the plug will be easier, because i can adjust the weight in them easier. I'm thinking sand maybe in one of them, because with water, i'd have to add antifreeze to it because it will freeze come winter time.

Today, my legs are crazy sore. It was all the SSB squats, as well as trap bar deads. Trap bar deads are awesome because they are a pull, but the stress on your back is very limited, and it's more like a squat because of that.

I'm thinking of maybe pulling heavy in a few weeks again, from the floor, but not sure. We're supposed to start training events next week, according to chad, so that should be a good time.
