Sorry, but what's this chick doing w/ a medicine ball under her? Is she front squatting to it? Leave it to crossfit to come up with something like this!!

depends though on the singles thing, if you bring up your 1rm max, the lighter stuff gets so much easier. ive never trained my deadlifts with that many reps and if i took 405lbs id probally get close to 20 reps (i think i got 15 last time i tried a while back).
yes but considering the contest is a month away, chances of pulling significantly over 450 for a single to make the 450 feel light is impossible. to get 10-15 reps, i'd have to probably have a 550 pull.
it's easier to train the reps in a shorter time period than to improve your 1RM. Plus, pulling singles constantly with heavy event work would fry me.

Farmers:
215/hand for 65ft for 2 trips
then we all decided to do a contest run + turns.
I got 215/hand for 2 turns+ around 10 ft with no drops. (pr)
This turns out to be over 2/3 of the course, and was good enough for second between all of us. One guy completed the whole course w/ one drop. I could have completed it had my legs not been toasted. My grip wasn't even the problem, but my legs got very wobbly after the second turn, and i had to drop it and then couldn't pick it up. Another guy took it only one turn, and another took it past the keg twice, but didn't do turns, and dropped it and repicked. He wasted lots of time doing this (at least 30 seconds), so when it came to be my turn, i decided to just go for the turns.
Drag+carry:
I was thinking this was a carry and drag, but it's a drag and carry. This really tires you out and makes the carry much harder. On top of that, the keg weight is raised from 180 to 250 now. We loaded up the sled to 530 or 540lbs, not sure which, but it was over the contest weight.
#530 drag for 60ft, couldn't pick the keg.
#530 drag for around 40ft
#300 something drag back inside.
I just need to practice lapping and then learning how to pop the kegs. I can do this at home since i have one.
Good day. We didn't do much, but with the Indiana humidity and no AC, we were all sweating like crazy.

The chick is using the ball like a box, to know when to stop. Of course, them crossfitters also tend to bounce on them at the bottom. Sorta the opposite intent of the box squat, but whatever. Nice ones.
Hey yall, its been a while since my last log update but heres what I did today (all weights in kg):
Snatch: 7 of singles up to 88? (I put the ? in there because coach was putting on a bunch of change so that I would lift weights that I dont usually lift, so it was hard for me to keep track what was on the bar. I know I was supposed to go up to 90 something but it didnt feel like 98)
CJ: 7 singles from 88? up to 118. Same shit as above.
Clean Pull to the Knees w/3 sec Pause: 118, 128, 135, 135 for doubles.
Front Squats: 120, 130, 140, 150, 155, 160 for singles
Really good session today. Form was on point, there was no rolling on toes and I really felt myself move around the bar during the snatches. I get that move around feeling on cleans pretty consistently, but the snatch has eluded me. I hit all of my targeted weights today too so that was good.
The squats felt really easy because I was landing in the groove. I was working on just dropping on the squats and rising up as if I were catching a clean. So I would dive bomb to the bottom and then stand up with the weight.
Workout took a while with the rotations and rest in between pulls and squats. Was about 3 hours long *insert the 'OH NOEZ UR T-levels drop AFTER 60 MIN!@@!' smiley* Good session though, Im going to go hug a study and slow down my progress.

Thank gawd she had her rack to rack it on! Her elbows are looooowwww.
Zach, you are getting very close to your comp. Are you feeling ready?
no. not enough time left! so far, i'm thinking this is how the comp will go:
log: i'll finish at the bottom since the other guys can press for reps, and i haven't gotten 1. my goal is to get 1 rep with it at least, but i honestly don't think i can beat 3 which will probably be second to last (after me)
Deadlift: I might finished middle of the pack here. One guy thinks he can get 450x10, and i think i might get 3 at the most. We will see
Farmers: towards the front. Some guys can't even finish the course, and i figure i will probably be able to
Yoke: unsure. I just want to complete this. A lot of us can't even complete the course, or if they do, they do it slow.
Medley: i can finish the drag, i know which is more than one guy. I'm happy w/ that b/c i haven't dragged 500 yet like i did today. i need to work on picking up the keg though. I'll probably finish middle here.
So, i figure i'll probably finish towards the bottom of the pack of the competitors, but i'll give it my all and have a good time. I'm looking forward to the contest being over, so i can really address all my weaknesses after being able to see how i do in a competition.

I think getting the first comp behind you is a good thing. HOWEVER, you need to have more faith in your abilities! So much of it is mental. You need to go in there assuming you will kick everyone's ass.
