Woke up, back sort of stiff today from squats a few days ago. Figured i'd hit the gym anyway, and get some pulls and cleans in. Had to make it a quick workout b/c i had to hit class up an hour and a half after the time i hit the gym
Log Cleans:

170x1 (just wanted to work up to the weight i was going to use on my next press workout)

i really don't know what i was thinking on the 450 pull. I just pulled one and stopped. I should have tried for 2-3 reps. Mr. Lynch said i would have gotten 2-3 with how easy the first went up.
I'm happy, but now the quest for 10 reps on 450 comes. I'm hoping to get 4 or so next workout. I have a video of the 450 single, but i'm at school, and my camera's at home, so i'll upload later after i get off work.

i just realized that i hit my deadlift goal for May 4th already, almost 1 month early!
I would have never thought that my deadlift would go up as quickly as it has!
I don't have to work tomorrow, so i may hit the gym, and get an overhead workout in? Either that, or i'll hit some events tomorrow, and then hit overhead on saturday?
Either way, i need to hit yoke this week! I need to start feeling the weight on my back again, even if it's only for short runs!

Steve: thanks man. Not sure for straight bar, but 450 is my best pull so far. I think i'm good for more, but i'm going to focus on reps now with 450 since that's the contest weight.

ha! i would be pulling with a straight bar if it was what was in the competition though. i'm excited for the competition, but also excited to have a competition under my belt so i can start training to improve where i'm weak.

What's your plan after this competition? Another strongman comp? a PL comp?
i plan on doing more SM comps, or maybe an oly competition if i can get comfortable with the lifts.
the thing with SM comps is that they are mostly in the summer, so by the time i'm done with the july one, i probably won't enter one until next year, so if i do oly comps, i can keep my motivation up.
A PLing comp isn't out of the realm of possibility either...

haha! there's no squat in the comp though, that's why the squatting has taken a backseat.
I plan on really pushing up my squats after july though. There's no reason why i shouldn't be front squatting over 200, and back squatting over 3

170kg is my best single, 150 is a routine single for me. So Id need about 11kg on that.
As for training, Im going squat very often.
