Probably, I hope their whole team gets banned, bastards.
I think this happened to the Russian powerlifting team in the IPF, hah.
eh,
people are delusional if they think that steroids aren't rampant in the olympics. I would bet money that at least 70-80% of people on weightlifting teams use. It's just about who gets caught, and who plays better politics.

90x3x2, 5
110x2
120x2
134x1
144x1
154x1
164xmiss (no leg drive on this)
164x1 (pr)
134x4 (pr)
Squat:
up to 185x5, then 185x3. No motivation on these.
Tri Ext: 70x8x2
Ab Pulldowns: 4 sets
Happy with how things are moving. I'll do some farmers and then yoke or carry and drag tomorrow, or maybe all three. I don't have anything to do tomorrow anyway, except some papers, but i may not do those.
Here's the clean and press of 164x1. I didn't catch the press in the frame because i suck.
Squat:
up to 185x5, then 185x3. No motivation on these.
WTF? Isnt this the squat freak log?
Quote:
Does the clean look any better manny? I think it does, but not sure.
That looks much better. Make sure the weight is on your heels and that your hamstrings are taking the load when getting it off the floor (think DL). From there, its all ass.
The elbows moved faster but I think you could get to roll a little bit faster.
And drop under that shit! Youre not going to get many reps pressing it like that.

dude, i still need to learn how to jerk properly! I figured i'd work on getting the weight push press style, and then learn to jerk from there. i just want to make sure i don't bomb out on the log.
thanks jill!

Woke up today and felt like shit. Sinuses are really acting up, and affecting everyone around here. I pretty much felt like i had a cold, and was coughing up a lot of stuff. But, it's just too nice outside not to train, so...
Events:
Farmers (turn at 60ft):
110/hand for 120ft
160/hand for 120ft
180/hand for 120ft (pr for distance w/ this weight)
200/hand for 70ft (pr for distance. made the turn, REAL slow, and made 10 more ft.)
160/hand for 50ft (worked on the feet shuffle more here. felt a lot faster and more stable.)
Keg/Sled Drag Medley (60ft each):
140-150/230 around 25 seconds
140-150/280 around 24 seconds
loaded up the plates i had lying around and dragged the sled back to my garage slowly
320 sled for 60 ft
good day. I'll up the weight on the kegs and sled next time. I still need to work on my turns badly on the farmers. I need to work on pressing the two 45plates in the front end of the farmers against each other so the weight doesn't turn in towards my body on the turn. Also, work on shuffling. I'll probably take 215 or so for a run next time for about 60 ft, and then just work on increasing the distance in the next few weeks.
didn't lift this morning. I woke up, and was just too run down to get up. I'm not that sore today, but just a little stiff, and my bicep is a little sore, so i figured i'd play it smart, and ice today, and then go tomorrow morning.
Plus, i like tues/thurs better than mon/wed because i have more time to workout, and i don't have to work out at a frantic pace to get to class, since my class is at 2:30 on t/tr. I've still come 30min late to class because the teacher doesn't even care.

Front Squats:
176x3
198x1 (13lb PR!)
220xmiss (the spotters touched this. they said they didn't help up the bar, but just stopped it from falling forward. I'll get it in due time).
Shrugs:
315x5x3
Wrist Roller:
3 sets
Good workout. Going to eat and ice!

Man you need to get that bicep looked at, that shit isnt normal for someone your age. Find an ART guy and get that shit fixed.

yea i know. closest art guy is a few hours away though.
it felt fine the past few weeks. i think i tweaked it on events this past weekend somehow though, b/c it was sore the next day. It doesn't hurt nearly as bad as before, so i think it's getting better...

yea it would! Hopefully it will be more like a training session with all of them, than me just lifting and them being there and watching. We gotta have a competitive atmosphere!
if everything feels good, i'm going for a 450 pull on thursday.

You should have a great time in Boston with those guys. I had 1 session with Eric and Tony when they were still at South Side gym in CT and it was great. South Side is unlike any gym I have ever trained in and just walking into that place makes you feel like you could lift more. I'm sure Excel has much nicer equipment though.

Just because the pain went away doesnt mean that it was healed. Your body can shut down overused muscle groups and force compensation somewhere else in the chain. Of course tweaking it is going to cause the original pain and possibly some extra pain in other areas depending on how youre compensating.
Seriously, the longer you wait, the more ART youll need. Ive travelled long distances for ART as well, but its worth it. Even here in DC, to get to my guy is a 3-4 hour endeavor but I do it because hes that fucking good.
Dont wait for shit to get so tweaked that it tears in which case youll be driving to PT and ART.

Simon:
we're staying 5 nights, i think. We both took 1 week off. We're counting on driving straight through to boston which is like 16-18 hrs i think. it'll be rough.
I've met cressey and robinson before at one of cressey's PLing meets a good number of years ago in chicago, both are very cool. I really hope all this can work out, and sully and cardoza are down there. Cardoza almost made it to WSM a few years ago but got injured. It'll be interesting to pick his brain about stuff.
PJ:
thanks man. Yea, no SS for me, but maybe excel (i hope!)
Manny:
You're probably right. I found one in chicago:
Quote:
SELF PAY: I will not be using insurance, I will be paying for myself. How much will the treatments cost?
- We offer a time-of-service discount to those patients who skip using any medical insurance and pay out of pocket.
- With this discount, the typical charges on the initial visit, which includes the examination and any and all treatments that are rendered on that day, is $120. This session is usually one hour long.
- After that, every additional treatment session (which is about twenty minutes to a half-hour) is $70. We also currently offer an additional discount if you purchase a package of 5 visits in advance: this costs $300 ($60/visit) and is good for the life of the clinic.
- **Note: these prices may change before this website is updated so do use these prices only as a guideline. The prices that include the time-of-service discount are based on the typical charges that occur at our clinic. If you would like more information about our time-of-service discount program, please feel free to call the clinic.
uggg. that's expensive since i'll be paying out of pocket, and have to travel to get there by train!
There's a couple in Ft. Wayne, which i think aren't as expensive...
dude, i still need to learn how to jerk properly! I figured i'd work on getting the weight push press style, and then learn to jerk from there. i just want to make sure i don't bomb out on the log.

If you were closer, Conan could have you jerking properly in like 10 minutes.

In that case its just Sully. See if he cant get you a session with his ART guy while youre over there.

why, the rest of them aren't down there? I don't know if i can swing an ART session while down there. I may try and go to the one in Ft. Wayne though. 70 miles isn't much.
edit: I just got a message from Tony, and he said that they started a new facility. Man, i'm out of the loop.

She better not back out this time, otherwise, back her ass out of your car and onto the curb.
