Honestly, sometimes I just have a carton of milk and a banana before lifting. But maybe 20 min before lifting. Good energy (I also eat a sandwich or something maybe an hour or so before that), and it doesn't give you that feeling that your stomach contents are going to empty on the floor.
Less = good.
Nice benching too.

i had some talapia (fish), with some garlic bread, brownie, and milk. Then i was still hungry so i had a PB&J sandwich with some water.

squat and olympic lifts are like apples and oranges. Olympic lifts are way more technical than squats. You should know that by now noob.

Its not about technicality. They are both competitive lifts for different sports. Just because you dont compete in said sport doesnt excuse from trying to achieve excellent form, esp when doing so has carry over to what youre doing.

My back is still sore (aka killing me), from deadlifts a few days ago. Ya know, i plan to do it on fridays so i have 2 days to recover, but it never works out. Since i'm not a pansy like matthew (hehe), i hit the gym to do some oly lifts
Lots of warmups + new rehband shorts
Cleans:
155x1
165x1
175xmiss (i gripped more to one side and missed it b/c of that. i would have had it otherwise)
175x1 (not bad, ties pr)
Cleans+front squats:
151x1
141x1x2
Cleans+PP:
131x1x3 (these were fast)
Squats:
170x5x3
Push presses:
135x1
145x1
Then Kyle (another oly guy whom i was sharing the platform with), was doing some pickups with the 2" dumbbell. The coach said he never saw anyone use those, so of course, i had to try them out...
2" thick dumbbell
95xa few
105x1
then i don't remember, but we ended up going to
120x1/hand and then kyle beat me w/ 130/hand but couldn't go any higher. I will beat him soon enough.
Tri Ext: 60x8x2
Wrist Roller: 50x1 (just fooling around)
Kylealso said he always wanted to try some strongman stuff out, and i think he would do very well; he's bigger, but fast and good grip. I might try and push him to doing the novice division. I think he's heavier than me, so if chad does a lw/hw division, we could possibly take both spots.
The neoprene shorts are insane and make me sweat like crazy. I love them.

3-11-08:
Power Snatch:
65x3x2
75x1x2
80x1x2
85x1 (coach was going to stop me here, but 85 went up so easy, we added another 5)
90x1
Snatch High Pulls:
100x3
105x3
110x3
Front Squats:
105x5
115x5
125x5
easy
GMs:
100x3x2
105x3
Abs: 5 sets
I'm going to start deadlifting on thursdays at the end of my snatch workouts so i have the whole weekend for my back to recover. Then i may do some events on the weekend as well.

That's a nice workout! I've got power snatches on the menu for my workout tomorrow along w/snatch balances and OH squats. Good times!

thanks! I still have a lot left in me on the snatches.
i can only get to around parallel on OH squats. Any lower, and i start leaning, and i just don't have the shoulder flexibility to go that low yet. It'll come (hopefully).

You know, the more olympic lifting I do, the more admiration I have for the world class O lifters. The combination of speed, flexibility, strength and power required just blows my mind.

Clean:
155x1
165x1
180xmiss (i tried this weight a number of times. One time i had it, but after i dipped under it, my legs kind of gave out, and i fell backwards. very weird. I'm pulling it PLENTY high enough, to nipple level, i'm just not getting under the weight quick enough.)
Clean+front squat:
141x1x3
Hang Cleans:
111x2x3
Squats:
170x5x2
175x5 (these felt better than the previous sets we're going to start at 175 next time).
Shrugs: 275x6x3
Tri Ext: 60x8, 65x8
Ab Pulldowns: 4 sets
No OHP because my bi/shoulder area is killing me. It totally sucks. I'm icing now. I'll keep taking asprins, and ice more tonight, along with foam rolling around my back and shoulder area in case anything's tight. I also might order some rehband elbow sleeves as well.

I must have missed the part where you posted a video.

yea, i'll get it next time D... i seriously tried it like 5 times, and was very close to getting it 2 times. 1 time i had bad form and didn't try to get under it.. it was like an upright row. the other few times were close as well.
