legs are killing me today. if anyone's wondering, i still do upper body work. I'm probably just going to focus on speed and technique of push presses, while pushing my lower body strength, and working on shoulder flexiblity as well. I'm planning speed work for today, and then do some higher volume, low intensity front squats on sunday, or maybe just do accessories.

7-27-07:

Push Press for speed and form:
..
95x2x2
115x2x2

Dips: 2x6. i don't like these

DB Bench:
40x10
50x10x3

Hammer Curls and Pushdowns

didn't really feel in the mood to workout. I'm taking the jesse thing kind of hard. he was the type of person that i aspired to be, and to die at such a young age really bothers me. He was such an amazing athlete, and a good person, and a good family man. Not only was he a role model to me, but i think a lot of people, me included, are taking it harder because everyone who posted on his board felt like they knew him personally, and feels like we are all a family and lost someone very close to them. He never treated anyone w/ disrespect, and was always willing to help people.

Lots of PRs in here for sure.

Although you knew jesse much better then me, I found some of his info very helpful when reading his forum. Seemed like such a good guy for the sport of strongman. One thing for sure though, nothing he would love is for everyone to keep training, getting stronger, and hitting pr's. Deaths like this always scare me too.

thanks steve.

7-29-07:

Front Squats:
...
130x5
135x4 (could have had 5 or 6, but grip slipped)

Yoke:
130x70 feet: 15 seconds
130x70 feet: 15 seconds
170x70 feet: 15 seconds
270x70 feet: 17 seconds
270x70 feet: 19 seconds

One Arm Rows:
75x6
85x6x2

yoke felt pretty good. i'm really working on speed and staying fast on these. I'll probably keep around the same idea and try to do them for 70ft-90, and keep it under 20 seconds for the run.

From marunde's board:

Quote:
the service was a fitting tribute and i don't know if "cool" is the right word but the work out was special... SARGE had one request in honor of Jesse and the Sequim crew's New Motto: Squat More.. everyone was to hit a bodyweight for 20 rep effort.. great atmosphere.. Sarge, Breck, Bristol, Callie, Robbie W... 5 pros..( MATT Parkes, Marshall White, Dave O, Grant Higa and the Kevin Nee) a bunch of top ams (Breck, Tim Nagy, Beeks, Elliot Baum, Kristen V, Scott Hughes and me?) .. a cool atmosphere of course .. I hit my bodyweight for 20 reps ( 25 actually) .. Higa was running the squat rack making eveyone hit their reps.. Dave Ostlund ( he is a huge guy!!) Marshall White and the Kevin Nee decided to have a little DL contest right in the middle of the action: willie wessels ref'd... they all smoked 705 and then Nee threw it out.. 814!! dave broke it to mid shin, so did Marsh and then Nee smoked it.. he then called for 858.. SMOKED THAT ONE TOO.. his final attempt 880.. got it to the knees..Marshall then decided to go hit a 405 squat for 20 .. we then did a bit of clean and press..Me hitting a nice easy 264.. Tim "the juggernaut" Nagy then came over and cleaned it and STRICT PRESSED it for 15 just cause he can ..

all in all a fitting day!
Thanks to all those that were there..

Jamie T

basically i've been stretching a lot and foam rolling each night for around 15-30 minutes while watching tv. foam rolling on my back hurts, but makes it feel a lot better. It felt great yesterday, and was sore again today for some reason? It might have been from the AC blowing on my back at night, who knows?

Anxious to start lifting again, which i think i'll do monday.
