Life has been going really really good recently, which is kinda a change.
Went to library sale, and bought 6-7 really good dvds for 3 bucks apiece. Movies like ghostbusters, pursuit of happyness, fraility, LA confidential, etc.
Put in for my vacation the week before christmas. so, instead of coming back, and the boss making me work xmas eve, he just gave me xmas eve, xmas, and the day after off too. 10 days in a row.
Found out Chad is doing a novice division in next year's contest July 5. I will enter this, and hopefully do decently well. REALLY excited about this.
Girl from work asked for my phone #? Not sure on the future there b/c she's young, but it's still a compliment.
Back is feeling better each day, and my family and friends are all healthy.
Out of 5 classes, only 1 is having a final that i completed. I know i have 2 As in 2 of the classes, and will most likely get Bs AT LEAST in the other ones.
And, i'm now on christmas break.
Now, i'm about to go workout, and hopefully have a good one. Will probably order a log from alan today too.

12-10-07:
Close Grip Bench:
150x3
155x5 (i think this ties a pr? but i dunno)
155x3
these felt good, and easy. I think i'm getting the hang of benching, and finding the sweet spot to press from.
DB Bench:
50x12
50x12
40x12
like butta.
DB Rows very very light:
35x15x2
Farmers Pickups and Holds:
i think the bar weighs like 35 or 25/hand? i dunno.
fat bar handle: bar+90/handx20 seconds
reg handle: bar+140/handx20 seconds
pushed the back today with the farmers pickups and holds, so i'll see how it feels tomorrow. A little sore today, but not bad.
this will be my wedding cake:

I think that training-wise you had a very good week. The thing is that now you gotta take it up a notch (progress is the surest way to stimulate gains).
The question is: Can you get even deeper into pain territory? Can you go one step further than last week? Can you tolerate more torture?
Most ectomorphs have a low capacity to tolerate strength training; for them a high volume approach is generally a very bad idea and end up in more frustration (from lack of growth) than anything. From what you tell me, I think that this applies to you and as a result you will grow best from a low-volume approach.
However, ectomorphs are also low responders when it comes to strength training. While some mesomorphs almost grow only by looking a weights, ectomorphs need a very powerful stimulus to coax the body into growth.
So this is the approach I will use with you when it comes to your training program. We need a powerful stimulus, BUT we cannot get it from doing a lot of work. So you'll need to train hard.
Part of the reason youve been chosen id because of your apparent determination and drive. Let's see what you can really do with the right program, diet, and tactical supplementation.
Next week I want you to eat only horse meat or bison since they are ultra lean. No tomatoes, only celery and iceberg lettuce. If you drink milk I will be beyond pissed. And make sure you get 40g of fish oils in a day plus 15 amino acid tabs spaced evenly throughout your training session. Read Phoenix Theory if youre feeling emo about things and take solace in the iron.

Or it could be that the program design is extraordinary and designed by one of the top coaches in the world!

Tell Chad to have either an under 200 or under 175 class and I will come out and do the show too, I have heard his shows kick ass!

his shows are great. You should make the drive out anyway! I don't know if he'll do an under 200 class, but i'll ask and see.
