10-26-07:

Axle Press:
95x5
added chains
95x3
115x3
125x1 (pr)
removed chains
125x5 (felt REALLY easy)

Some sets of rack lockouts

Deadlifts:
315x5
365xm
365x1
385x1 (10lb pr)

Buffalo bar squats (bar weighs 65lbs, but counting as 45):
185x3x2
205x2
225x1
245x1 (felt easy) (pr)

some random rowing stuff throughout the workout

So, i hit 3 prs today. Most i've pulled, and right up there with the most i've squatted (i think it's 275 w/ a straight bar, but this felt really easy. I could have probably had a double, but didn't want to push it since my back was pretty spend from the pulls. It's weird, i felt like shit today, but ended up doing awesome. A few weeks ago, when i was feeling good, i missed 385? go figure.

I most impressed by the fact you missed that 365lbs once, then hit it.. then went up 20lbs, and hit that! most would have called it after the first miss. nice work.

thanks guys. I can feel a 405 pull coming within a month or so.

I'm probably going to go for reps this week in deadlifts to give my body a break from all the heavy singles. Maybe trap bar, or maybe straight bar? Probably will go for some heavy squats this week. Maybe buffalo bar since we haven't done those much.

Try doing some trap bar pulls. Or just stop pulling and squat more!

yea, i'm leaning towards trap bar, but my back feels really good right now. I really haven't been squatting much, but squats felt easy last time i did them. go figure.

What the hell man, your overhead is almost as much as your bench! Smash some weight and get that bench flying.

thanks pj!

dude, i don't even care about my bench. ha. I just want a big overhead press. i'm just using it as a good way to increase my tricep strength. It's funny b/c 2 workouts back from not even benching in like 5 months, and i'm pressing more than i was before. The strength off my chest is insane now. now, it's just tricep strength with locking weights out.

I was overhead pressing 75lbs dbs for a hard as hell 6...
put 50lbs on my bench...
now 95lbs dbs for an easy 8

Crank that bench! I too have good off the chest strength with a weaker lockout. If you figure out how to solve this other then 'get stronger' let me know. :p

Hip Mobility

Pullthroughs:
3x12

Pushdowns:
2x25

Incline DB (extra light):
30x15
40x12

Bulgarian Split Squats:
2x8

Curls:
2x8

quick workout to get rid of some stiffness and soreness from the past few days. I feel tired, so i'll rest up, pound the calories, and be ready for friday. I feel a squat PR coming on friday if my hips feel good that morning.

Today:

opened and filled 2 kegs. I still need to add more water to the one keg. also, some antifreeze so it doesn't freeze in the winter.

go get a keg man! i can tell you how to open it up. I just posted an ad on craigslist looking for some, and got like 4 replies back. They're impossible to get from liquor stores here.

That was definitely a stupid squat, and deserves a frowny face. no gold star for you. Why did he quarter squat, and then try to squat it anyway? it would have been redlighted anyway even if he did somehow miraculously squat it back up.

11-2-07:

Overhead Press against mini bands:
125x2
135x1x2
removed bands
135x5
145x3 (rep pr)
155x2 (rep pr)
165x1 (pr, and not too hard. tried for 2, but tris were fried)
i'm probably good for a 175 press right now if i'm fresh.

Trap bar deads:
335x4 (rep pr)
315x6 (uggg. rep pr again)

Buffalo bar squats (bar counted as 45):
225x1
245x1
225x1
225x3 (rep pr)
205x5 (rep pr)

crazy amount of rep prs. Everything is moving up quickly, and i know exactly what i need to do to get my lifts all up. The reps on deads were hard. i probably could have had 7-8 on 315 deads, but the 6th was moving slow, so i called it.

Remember, if you want 2, 3 is always better:

ha! a central air unit? that's pretty funny.

engine block loading was actually an event at last years nationals. They did it instead of stone loading
