Thats one hell of an ATG squat. Need to update your sig! =-)

Nice guitar too. I'm always amazed at people who can play. Sometime I think it would be cool to learn, but right now I have too many hobbies without that one hehe.

-I stopped after the fourth rep of last set of squats as it was pretty freakin slow, didn\'t know if i could get another rep, and I didn\'t want to fail a rep, especially with no power rack or spotter. Next week will be my last week of training for a while, I might do 3 x 3 x 300lbs for the squats

Moving out/kicked out as soon as i get my uni offer(jan 15) I start looking for a place.

Parents want me to sell my weight training equipment early, by the end of the month.

I don\'t expect to be able to train regularly until feb-march - settle into new place, new uni, find new gym, yadadadada... Should be interesting, and fun.

I just owned an exam really hard yesterday, should own my last one tomorrow(cramming really does work). Damn they make us wait until 17dec to tell us our ranking - I guess its so we have 2 weeks to go celebrate finishing high school, and then we get the bad news(err..good new i mean).

Yeah, so the last 4 weeks I\'ve just been trying to get big PR\'s, since i wont be lifting for a while, when i come back ill probably need like a month just to regain these PR\'s, maybe more, which sucks.

EDIT: theres a guest viewing my thread!! wierd!

I actually hear from 2 of my colleges right around that time--Dec. 15. So we're both in the same boat here--waiting a month to hear our fates.

Well not exactly the same boat, but similar boats haha.

I get my ranking in December. - from this i could guess looking at last year\'s students which course i\'ll get into, the number(0-99.95) that will determine my fate.. hahah(aiming for 90, i think i wont be below 85)

My uni offer in jan 15(we apply through an organization and select 12 courses, not direct to uni\'s, we only get one offer)

So all the Unis in Australia are public? that's interesting. Here, you have public+private, and you can go wherever you are accepted at.

public private whaaat? I\'m not sure how they classify, I know the uni\'s get a crap load of money from the government. I know my fees are subsidised by the government(20k per year, I only pay like 5-6) - all courses have this option, u can pay full fee and its easier to get in, but my parents are tight(yeh they can afford it), and i cant afford haha.

I can only go to the top(my highest preference) uni that i am accepted at, i give them 12 ordered preferences and they go down the list until i get accepted.

You can also get scholarships to these schools relatively easily. Due to my standardized test scores/ grades, I can go to the flagship school in my state for free. I can probably also get a nice scholarship offer to the University of Maryand, the other state school I'm applying to.

Private schools are just that--private, without any Gov't funding. These tend to be expensive(although they will help you out if you need financial aid). Most of the private schools I'm applying to cost around $45,000

Looks like all our universities are public then. The ones that are private are too small(and in most cases too crap) to be considered (universities).

We have 2 types of courses, full fee(15-30k per year) and CSP(commonwealth supported places) which means the government pays for your fees and you only pay like 5-6k, this doesn\'t include anything(no food, no room, no textbooks, no parking permits, no benefits at all), and part of CSP is that you don\'t have to pay the government until after you finish the course are earning money, so I think I\'ll have to pay that off myself which sucks(3-4 years x 5-6 thousand), not sure though.

I only applied for CSP courses, as my parents wont shell out the money. But every courses has 2 options(exact same course, csp and full fee), so if my marks are good enough it doesn\'t matter anyway. It\'s easier to get into courses paying full fee - obviously.

No workout today, tired - lack of sleep this past exam week. I\'ll workout tomorrow.

I did my last exam(s) today - i think i did well. Finished high school forever, and will never see that place again(Actually i might come speak to the kiddies haha). I feel extremely relieved, and finishing high school has made me happier than i thought it would lol. Next few months should be interesting...

22/11/07 Thursday
Weight:179

sets x reps x weight

I got a friend over last night to do a workout, pretty fun

Deadlift
few triples and singles up to 333lbs(everything I have)

Bench Press
135.3lbs x 3
157.3lbs x 3
179.3lbs x 9(F) 9RM PR
190.3lbs x 5(F) 5RM PR
201.3lbs x 3(F) 3RM PR

EZ-Bar curls
sets with 68lbs, 79lbs, 85lbs

Running
2 laps around the park behind my house, two intervals of sprinting chucked in there

Comments:
-Really good workout, haven\'t had a chance to bench press with a spotter in ages
-This is probably my last or second ;last owrkout for a couple months, I have sold my stuff to a friend and he is picking it all up in the next 2 days, it has been fun
-All Bench Press sets were taken to failure, I don\'t know why I did this, I should have done a couple of warm-up sets and gone for a 1rm of 225lbs!
Previous bests were 179lbs x 5, 201lbs x 1
-Deadlifts were easy, my friend got up to 311lbs x 1, and failed to lift 333lbs(a good PR for a smaller guy, way over double BW
-Curls took the form of an epic battle(kidding), he did a set, I did a set, we did alot fo sets... I won int he end, fo this curlfest hahahahahah
-It was fun, damn i should have just gone for a massive Bench 1rm PR though

I dunno, he lives kinda far, its a bitch to get to without a car. I could do it for a while I guess, help him with his workouts and such(hes a n00b). I\'ll join my Uni\'s gym when that starts in late feb anyway.

That friend of mine rang today to come pick the stuff up, but I was out. He\'s probably coming tommorow now, I might be able to squeee in a quick workout tommorow before then.

I now have no weights, my friend came and picked them up today. Atleast I\'ll get money for it - hopefully soon, althought I sold the stuff cheap $245 in total.

Now all I have is two each of 55lb, 33lb, 5.5lb, 2.75lb and 1.1lb plates, two 14inch DB\'s and two 17inch DB\'s - this stuff might be hard to get rid of by itself like this.

Not much training going on here anymore!

That sucks a bit, but thats no excuse to stop training, just cause you
don't have weights.
You might have to be a bit more creative for a while but don't stop all together.
Go and check out Bodyweight Culture that should give you some ideas.

i'd start doing pullups!

you can get inventive. start doing stuff that will build up a strong core. You can do stuff like squats with the 55lb plate held straight out in front of you. overhead squats holding the plate/plates above your head, etc.

We\'ll see what happens... I\'m going away for 10 days starting saturday, I\'ll do someting when I come back.

I will probably lose weight if i do nothing, that\'s what happened last time I stopped weights for a while.

Haven't had much exercise in the last month or two, I'm actually losing weight though. Apart from Dumbbell Snatches with a 42.9lb dumbbell for 5 minutes(guessing), some pistols and some skipping which I did a few days ago, my only other exercise was tonight:

Went for a walk with a friend, ended up doing this:

Jog 5 minutes

Chin-ups:
BW x 10
BW x 5
BW x 5
BW x 3
BW x 2

5 minute Jog

Chin-ups:
BW x 5
BW x 5
BW x 5

Walking Dog a bit

Chin-ups
BW x 5
BW x 5
BW x 3(neutral grip)

In total about 50 chins, and some random neutral grip ones over a period of time, my arms were fairly tired. My friend did something like 10, 5, 5, 5, 5, Jog, 5, 5, 5, Walk dog, 10, 5, 5. One of those small chin-up machines!

I don't really have much to keep this log going anymore, but I'm just gonna post my PR's for reference when I get back into the gym again in a month or two(new log then):

Bench Press
179.3lbs x 9(F) 9RM PR
190.3lbs x 5(F) 5RM PR
201.3lbs x 3(F) 3RM PR

Bent-over Row
5 x 5 x 201.3lbs

Power Clean
5 x 3 x 179.3lbs

Press
3 x 5 x 135.3lbs

ATG Squat
2 x 5 x 283.8lbs
1 x 4 x 283.8lbs

Deadlift
9 x 4 x 322.3lbs

Dumbbell Rows
3 x 12 x 88lbs

Dumbbell Rows
3 x 5 x 99lbs
