08/06/08 Sunday

Squat Day

Squat
---suit(31 inzer hardcore) on, straps down---
143lbs x 5
242lbs x 4
---knee wraps + belt + straps up - full equipment---
330lbs x 1
385lbs x 1
407lbs x 2 PR my opener

Comments:

-Good to get two good reps on that double of 407lbs, which I will open at.
-Both squats were good, but I was a bit unstable unracking, and after the first rep almost fell over(I locked it out really fast and almost put me off balance), but I was okay and got both reps.
-While my coach is wrapping my knees, Tim told him "Hey, Simon said you wrap like a pussy, and that I wrap harder, and I wasn't even trying" as a bit of a prank hah - a characteristic response from my coach would then be to say "oh yeah?" and proceed to wrap my knees as hard as possible, he held it in though, and didn't
-Afterwards he wrapped my knees 100% tight, which hurt a bit, especially the last few times around the knee hah, but I still said "hah, this is loose, you wrap like a pussy!" hahahhahaahhaha

I have a 2 hour weigh in.

Weigh in at 10am this Saturday, 14th June,
start lifting at 12pm.

Openers set at:

Squat: 185kg
Bench: 112.5kg
Dead: 200kg

I hope to hit:

Squat: 200kg
Bench: 122.5kg
Deadlift: 225kg
Total: 547.5kg

I'll be competing in the 82.5kg Class, so I should easily make that by losing less than 1kg. I'll stop drinking at 3pm the day before, and have my last meal at 7pm(a small one, and not soup ). Weigh myself in the morning at my coaches house, and if I can afford it, have a bit of water hah, if I'm overweight, then Sauna down a bit.

5 complete days off? Damn, I usually take only 3 days off. 5 days is too much for me, I start getting weaker after 4-5 days.

Anyway, good luck!

my next meet i think i may do my last heavy day about 3 weeks out, hit openers 2 weeks out and then actually get some decent rest in. I only took 6 days off for my last meet and i wished i would have taken a few more. Everyone is different I hear shawn frankl takes like 2-3 days off and then benches like 800lbs @ 198 so who knows.

Do something active though.
Some light-ish sled drags or something.

Good luck dude!

Haha yeah, I don't see a point. I'd just run the risk of not being fully recovered on the comp day, with nothing to gain anyway.

4 days out. It's ass-sitting time!!!

I logged my food yesterday, I didn't eat much haha:

Wednesday 11th June Food Log:

30g Oats
600mL Milk
Protein Bar
beef jerky 50g
1 egg
Kangaroo Steak 388g
1kg froz veg
olive oil(for "one serve", 1 tbsp) - whatever I used to cook the steak

That all came to:

201g Protein (45.5%)
135g Carbs (30.5%)
47g Fat(24%)

1925 Calories according to the energy info on the labels of the food, if you add up the macrnonutrients above it comes to 1767 though interestingly enough. More calories from 'something'

I think I'll log my food intake today and tomorrow too, I don't have much else to do hah!

active recovery...

Besides you can work on you're technique with like 60% of 1RM. You'll be recovered from that the next day .

Doing absolutely nothing is a bad idea imo. But maybe it's works for you.

Btw: eating little and not training is very bad I've done that he last 5 days ( due to exams) and I'm as weak as hell Meaning no 150kg bench for me this meet

I think I'll be a bit off the 550kg total record, I can't set it officially at this comp anyway as I haven't been a member of the fed long enough.

Yep. I don't have much at all to lose, and I should be able to accomplish all that by just stopping drinking at the right time I think. But I'm dropping calories just incase, no idea how much I usually get, but I'm pretty sure it must be over 2000.

Todays intake should end up being more than yesterdays though I think.

Haha. I'm close to the weight, but I'm just gonna make sure I don't gain any weight in the next 2 days lol

So far today: 228g protein, 104g carbs, 34g fat, 1638 calories, once i finish off the rest of these kangaroo sausages.

Quarter to 4 now, gotta go to work soon anyway, I'll finish off the meat before I go, working 6-11pm, so I'll eat something right when I come back, and then leave it at that.

Thursday 12th June Food Log:

95g tuna
60g oats
500mL Milk
1 egg in the oats
Kangaroo sausages 484g
3 scoops protein powder
40ml tomato sauce
Protein Bar
95g tuna
95g tuna
6 eggs
95g tuna

That all came to:

348g Protein (51%)
118g Carbs (17%)
96g Fat(32%)

2786 Calories all up

Hmmm, that was a bit more than yesterday haha, probably because I woke up earlier, and didn't have an exam.

I'll keep tomorrows intake to under 2000 calories for sure(probably less since I'm not eating after 7pm), and go low carb for the day, with no carbs(if i can) for my last meal at around 7pm. Cutting water intake at 3pm too, I'm gonna be thirsty. The thirst, and the nerves will sure keep me up tomorrow night, and I have to get up early meet day too!

Dunno, I don't have scales. Gonna have to wait till sat morning a couple hours before the weigh-in when I go to my coaches house hah.

But I'd guess 83-83.5 haha.

1kg of vegetables on the 11th, no vegetables on the 12th, and another 1.5kg on the 13th(today). That's 833 grams of vegetables average for the 3 days. That's good enough!

Here's todays food log, the day hasn't ended, its only 2:20pm actually. But this is what I've cooked up. I'll be cutting water intake at 3pm, and cutting food intake at 7pm, so not long to go really anyway.

I've eaten the celery, the rest of the ingredients were stir fried together, and im eating them now, I should get though the lot before 7pm I think, but it is a fair bit of food hah!

Friday 13th June Food Log: 1 day out

747g skinless chicken breast
500g-ish celery
1 table spoon Olive Oil
1kg broccoli
soy sauce 50ml-ish

That all came to:

282g Protein (56%)
96.5g Carbs (19%)
56g Fat(25%)

2025 Calories all up

As long as I eat everything I cooked up, no less, no more hah. I think I should stick to that.

Allrighty, I stuck to what I wrote above with the food. 9:50pm now, last meal finished at 7:05pm, last drank anything at 3:00pm. Now to get some sleep, I weigh-in, in 12 hours time.
