Thanks,

Both will be fun anyway, my bench pressing, and the powerlifting meet

That's what I meant, the meet over the weekend. I guess I wasn't quite as awake as I thought I was when I posted.

Nice PR's,
Not that I have tested it, but I think our Dead strength is pretty similar.
Your speed squats are my 5rm though (for the moment)

I'll have a good few days of rest this week, spotting and loading and general helping at saturday and sundays meet, not sure when I'll train next, probably some time during next week, or maybe the weekend after this one.

I weighed myself after yesterdays workout at the gym, so lots of water in me, still food from a couple hours back in me, and clothes on(kinda have to be at the gym). I was 189lbs, although I don't think I've gained much real weight.

I was 184 last time I weighed myself, but this was just before my workout, and I didn't have much water in me. Of the 5lb gain, well I usually gain about 2kg(4.4lbs) water weight when I start using creatine, which seems to have happened again this time, and the other 1lb or so comes from just weighing myself later where I had more water in me(and I had a jumper on me which I didn't the first time).

Either way I was still probably 186ish not counting clothes last night after the workout, probably close to 183lbs in the morning dry I guess. So looks like a small gain in muscle mass was probable, I should have no problem making the 181lb class, all i need to do is drop some water weight, I can probably afford to put on a couple lbs if it happens to be.

Day 1 of the powerlifting meet was good, I got free food, and a free t-shirt!

It was womens, and mens up to 90kg(198lb).

All lifters from our powerlifting club did well. This included a 555lb deadlift and 1320lbs total at 198lbs, I wouldn't mind being around there myself at the end of the year, but at 181lbs

I helped out with the officiating, in the warm-up room, and just running errands for my coach and the lifters, rolling knee wraps(hehe, this gives a pretty big forearm pump) - things like that, it was a fun, but very long day. Tomorrow I think I'll just be a spectator, only one lifter(220lbs) from the club lifting tomorrow, openers of about 572/385/583, but I'm guessing the result will be something like 616/418/638, should be awesome.

Saw a couple lifters that may be my competition this year, one bombed the bench but squatted 407 and pulled 467.5. The other had a pretty good bench press at 286lbs, but his other lifts weren't as strong. I think I'll own them both this year I'll overtake that 467 deadlift fast, and once I get a suit on I'll squat around 440 right away, and with a bench shirt I'll bench press alot more too

Biggest lift I saw today was a 665lb Deadlift at 198lbs, very impressive.

Tomorrow is the 220s and above, there will be some massive lifts in there for sure!!!

Second day of the meet was good too! I got another t-shirt!(a southern powerlifting club t-shirt, not sure if I'm supposed to keep this though)

I was planning to just sit and watch, but I ended up being the guy that tells the loaders how much to put on the bar so they can load it as soon as the previouw lift is done, not too hard though hah.

Tim(club member, coaches me most of the time) got 627/401/627(totaled 1655 @220lbs) which was pretty damn good. Got 8/9 lifts, missed a bench. I thought he could have deadlifted more though.

I think I'll squat monday night, but take it easy(maybe doubles/triples with 297 or something) as I'll deadlift heavy on wednesday - I'll pull 385 for 3-4 sets of 4 reps.

Yeah, there were some pretty inspiring lifts this weekend, especially a 300kg++ squat and deadlift by a 90kg lifter, very impressive, too bad his bench isn't on par with that though.

I now have a couple targets hah(other sub-juniors to beat):

I want to deadlift atleast 220kgs minimum in my first comp(as a guy I want to beat got 212.5 and failed 220kgs), I also want to Squat 200kgs(well ahead of the same guys 185). As for the bench press, theres a different guy to beat, who got 130kgs, which will be pretty damn hard to beat in my first comp, but I'll aim to overtake him(but hes a year younger than me so f*** lol) by the end of the year either way hah!

Sounds like fun Simon. And it looks like you set some serious goals for yourself. There really is no better inspiration for lifting than being around so many other strong lifters.

The girls from the club did very well!

Jen totalled 292.5kgs I think, deadlifted 110kgs, squatted around there too, and benched 67.5kgs I think.

Rikki benched 75kgs, and deadlifted around 145, squat around 125.

My memory sucks hah!!! And I was on the officiating table the ENTIRE womens session, I'm sure of the 75 bench, 110 dead, and 292.5 total though... Maybe I'll post once the official results come out later hah....

There were also a couple of big girls(hah), with some benches up at around 100kgs, as fo the squats and deadlifts(and everything) I remember that no girl there was strong enough to outlift me

Yeah most lifters used gear, a couple of raw bench presses, and I think maybe one guy did everything raw.
