Is there a time limit?

I have a 1RM of 315 at eoy 2006, I'm looking toward at least a 90lbs gain by eoy 2007.

No time limit. Keep in mind that his is a race, though.

Jimmy's got a head start on us, NROL if done right can add a lot of weight to your pull in a really short time.

Hey Frank, as people sign up can we add them to your original post? Kind of like in the deadlift/squat threads in the training subforum?

I am down. It would be cool if you could edit the first post every Friday or something and throw a (+xxlbs) next to anyones name who improved there PR. Kind of a scoreboard type deal.

Current: 265

You have to ask a mod to grant you superpowers. I think Danny is the mod in this forum, but there could be more.

Great. Next thing you know someone's going to want to use shekels or atomic mass units...

Ok, I thought it would be good idea if everyone participating would post their stats goals ect.

Weight:168
Height:5 9
Age:17
Training Age: 6 months

Bench 175
Dead 300
Squat 210

Goals by 6.1.07
Bench 200
Dead 400
Squat 265
Weight 180-185ish, with a 34 waist or less

I know these are high goals, but I'd rather set the bar high and work my ass off than set the bar low and sell myself short.

Good luck to everyone, this should be fun!

Ok, heres mine:

Weight: 77kg(169.4lbs)
Height: 5 9
Age: 16(17 in a month)
Training Age 1.5 Years

Current: (too scared to try most 1rms lol)
Bench: 180lbs x 3
Squat: 180lbs x 4sets x 10reps
Deadlift: 322.3 x 1

Goals by... end of 2007 / whenever..(once i reach this, ill cut for 4 weeks, i think...)
Bench: 220lbs x 1
Squat: 300lbs x 1
Deadlift: 425lbs x 1
Weight: 180-190lbs

My goals are also pretty high, but as PA said I'de rather set them too high than too low.

Also, PA, how come your bench goal is so much lower than your squat and dead goals?

Very nice numbers Simon. You're kicking my ass.(more motivation...I'm liking this thread already!)

Re the bench-Mostly because there is WAY less room for improvement in bench opposed to squat /dead, and my bench naturally moves much slower than the other 2. Also, 200 just sounds cool. But hey, I'll take 225 if I can get it.

weight: 205lbs
height: 5'11
age: 19
training age: 12 months of serious lifting

current
bench: 175
squat: 245
deadlift: 315

goals
bench: 245
squat: 365
deadlift: 425

My deadline was new years 2008, but I'm going to move that up to September 1. I'm worried about that squat though, that's currently my hardest lift to improve.

2.04.07
Weight:170

setsxrepsxweight
e-each hand/each foot

Box Squats
2x3x175
2x3x185
3x3x195-up 20 lbs from last week.
185 front squat-PR

Leg Curl-tried doing these but my hammies were screaming. I could only get one rep. Replaced them with...

Front Squats
3x8x135

Split Squats

2x6ex105
1x8ex105-+10

Pullthroughs

2x20x13 plates-+1 set at 13

BB Shrugs
4x10x135

Comments:
-brutal workout. My hamstrings were very sore ysterday and this morning, so I felt a bit hampered the whole workout. They were screaming the whole time.
-box squats were good, but pretty hard. Still, I'm confident I can hit 215 next week for a triple.
-I did one leg curl and I knew they weren't happening. So I did some front squats instead. I'm getting pretty good at them, although they were damn hard. Pretty cool though to be repping a plate.
-split squats were good. I'm hitting 115 next week.
-pullthroughs were brutal, but I'm ready to move up.
-It finally seems like my metabolism is speeding up and I'm not gaining weight. Pretty intersting because at my fattest I was at 175ish for a year. Makes me think about the whole bodyweight set-point theory. I remember when I was at 140ish, I was gaining a lb a week on 2000 cals.
-akward workout week, as I'm gonna be out of town from thurs. to tues. I'll work it out though.

Nice. Judging from your numbers, I'm sure you'll hit 180 on the bench sooner rather than later.

This should be pretty cool as we're all around the same age.(16-20)

Don't post every workout in here, just the ones where you test your 1RM, or hit a new PR or something.

If you post every workout this thread will get very clustered. But if you just post your PRs it'll let everyone know where you're at and motivate everyone to keep working hard, which is the point of the thread.
