I agree with Frank here, you're 178lbs, eat up!! Those BMI charts are the biggest load of bullshit I've ever seen! I'm morbedly obese according to those things. It's kind of funny though, I'm in the Air Force, and if you're in standards on the BMI, you don't have to get your waist measured for the PFT. Well, of course, I fail BMI every time, but I have a smaller waist and lower bodyfat than everyone else who has a good BMI. I'll bet everything I own that I have a healthier blood profile as well. It's crap. Like alco said, eat healthy and eat BIG!!
Ask your parents if they'll let you just see a doctor every so often as you gain weight to make sure your staying healthy, and explain to them that BMI is at best a good indicator for sedentary people, it means nothing if you're exercising.

your school gives you free food? my schools have never done that.
Just breakfast--sugary cereal+ milk. Unfortaently, most of the milk has expired. It's not uncommon to open your milk just to encounter a huge chunk of curdled milk/cheese...thats why I rarely drink it.

on senior skip day, they told us that we weren't allowed to have a bbq in the parking lot like schools did for every year before us. So everyone went to someone's house, and they got kegs and got drunk. This was when they were supposed to be in school. Teachers went nuts. I stayed home that day luckily along with my friends.

our school
AC blew off in hurricane katrina(we got it too), no AC for a month
I've seen cats, frogs, and pidgeons(!) in our building.
I have 8 classes. 4 off them today were free periods
Teachers here practice grade deflation. I have teachers who refuse to givew A's
I think you know the story of when I went to breakfast
The school has fucked up kid's college transcripts. Smart kids, too. Ivy-league kids
they give us rotten milk
its a Jewish Orthodox school, they have served Non-kosher cereal(this is bad)
Our administration, which does shit, has accused us of "apathy"
They have suspended kids for going to parties. A teacher went to a club last year pretending he was drunk. Got all the kids names who were there, and they all got in trouble
some of my friends, good kids, wrote an unofficial school newspaper and got in trouble. My school has done a great job of alienating its best and brightest.
I don't have a problem with most of the faculty, but the administration is simply incompetent.

Kids can't get in trouble for something they do off school property. you can be standing three feet past the boundary, looking the principle in the eye, smoking weed. if he doesn't call the cops to come arrest you, he can't do shit because you weren't on school property.
at least that's how it is here. But, if you're still high when you go back on school property you can get in trouble for that.

that's the way it is here.... people used to get high before school in the bank parking lot across the street and then come to school. Teachers didn't care.

I go to a private school...you basically sign away your freedom by coming here. When people complain, they(administration) says"maybe this isnt the school for you. our school has certain values blah blah...."
It basically depends on who you are. If you pay full tuition and come from a rich family(there are a few in our school who give TONS of $$$), you can do whatever the fuck you want. If you're on scholarship, you're walking on eggshells.

You mean.... people went to high school, not high
hahaha, I used to be alot different.
Been thinking about my training for a while here, kind of been disapointed with my upperbody lately, I think soon enough ill have to focus more on my 'push' days. Try add 50lbs to my bench or something in the near future to balance everything out.

Haha.. maybe im just going to work the upper body for the ladies
My upperbody strength is pathetic. First time I set foot in a gym I benched 240lbs @ 180lbs, now im at around 270lbs @ 205.. If thats not sad I dont know what is. I blame it on injury, but I think I just need to up the intensity and giver the same way I do to my squats/deads.

I used to rock climb and mountain bike alot more though, I think that had something to do with it. Heres a picture of me a few weeks/months before starting to work out.. Its not like I looked like I could bench more then 100lbs haha. (Ok, im looking for an excuse to post this picture because I just found it and thought it was funny.. considering that shirt is no where close to fitting me anymore haha).
not a bad line...I may have to use it in school tommorow.
Frank-nice work.

ok, now that I got that out.. 240 is really good for your first time lifting, especially at 180. My first time benching was back in grade nine or ten, I was around 140-145, and I couldn't put more than 60 pounds on a standard bar. That was for ten reps (or was I doing 20s back then...) but still, I was no where close to my bodyweight.
Alco - he poured the beer out and filled the bottle with the apple martini, duh

Meh, alright workout. My chest can handle 20% more weight on everything, my triceps cannot. They are really far behind im terms of strength when compared to my shoulders and chest. Debating trying something completley new and different for the next few months. Infact, Im pretty sure if I posted it, everyone would think I had gone crazy.

What I learned today:
1) Today was apparently vag day in the gym, I didn't get the memo. I'm doing my sets of inverted rows and RDL's and I notice the only other two people in the leg area are two guys, both wearing jeans and work boots, one's doing leg presses, the other's doing seated calf raises. The 'guy' doing leg presses had gloves on too, and talked on his cell phone between sets. Then he moves over to the seated leg curl machine and can't figure out how to lower it all the way, so vag #2 who's still just sitting on the calf machine tells him he has to pull the little lever. Just made me crack up. In the time it took these guys go through the motions of a couple sets of machine exercises I did 14 balls out sets of rows and RDL's. I'm not suggesting that the bigger, stronger guys always know more about what they're doing, that's not true at all, but you'd think they could take a hint from me. Here's a guy (me) who's bigger and stronger than them (i.e. has achieved their goals) and he's busting his ass on hard, heavy free weight movements while they plop their ass on a machine and 'do a set' every 10 minutes. Do people really think it's going to just happen one day from just showing up and going through the motions. The body IS NOT GOING TO GROW unless you make it!! I'm not trying to sound high on myself, I know I still have a long way to go as well, I just wonder what people think, when you want to get bigger and stronger, and everyone who is bigger and stronger than you trains in a completely different way, wouldn't that tell you something??
It didn't end there though, among the other highlights of the day were one guy who asked me what the bands were for, I explained accomidating resistance to him while he did incline db curls. Later on, after a set of farmer's walks, he commented that he always see me doing stuff 'out of the ordinary' and that it's obviously working, I wanted to ask if his ordinary crap was working, but I didn't, I just said 'thanks, I don't want to be ordinary.' Oh yeah, this was while he performed high cable curls (the super gay biceps pose facing the mirror one). He also said he was going to try the 'hanging things' (hanging leg raises) he's seen me do, but wanted to do it when the gym wasn't crowded. I told him you should never be embarrased to try a new exercise in the gym, you're there to better yourself, not impress anybody else. And as I'm leaving, he had moved on to low cable curls . That's just the highlights, nobody knew what the fuck they were doing today. I need some good training partners.
