Comments:
-pretty good workout, given that I was very tired.
-deads were good, alltough 315 only budged an inch. Not a big deal, if I keep lifting heavy it will come.
-front squats were hard as hell. These always leave me out of breath.
-GM's are looking better. From has improved a lot.

Hit a Squat PR this week

Barbell Back Squat
201lbs x 9
201lbs x 9
201lbs x 9
201lbs x 9

Going for deadlift 289lbs x 6 x 4sets tonight, as i said before grip is the weakest link, hope to hold onto the bar.

Ok, time for a rant:

Today my dad told me my ideal weight for my height was 156lbs!!! then i told him he was crazy(im 178 now), so he said 165, which is still crazyyy...

I am not allowed to drink milk, eat ice cream, eat after dinner(7pm, hard to get around this, floorboards-can't sneak). I'm just gonna eat a bit more at school

My whey protein, starting strength book, practical programming book are all in the bin.

None of my friends who lift weights are allowed to come over and lift(or do anything else), and I'm now not allowed to go to their houses.

I will soon be forced into doing tennis(which i don't mind) and karate, which i quit a couple years ago after being forced to do it for years.

And.... that's it, ///end rant////

I guess i might take a picture of myself some time, just to confirm I'm not a crazy fat kid

Starting shooting H, drinking rye and leaving bottles in your room and cigerettes on the floor, and make your parents realize that their biggest concern is that their son is a 'lifter'. Unbelievable.

Good PR. The ideal weight thing sucks and is completely ridiculous. As your parents to take you to a doctor. If he's any good, he'll explain that weight means almost nothing and that BF is a better indicator. Also, you may want to get your BF checked so you can prove to your parents that youre healthy. Judging from your pic, you're definitly not fat.

BTW, how tall are you?

Oh, I'm actually not allowed to use the internet now. Meaning I have restricted access, and can only use it when parents aren't home, so i might not be checking in here as often as i like.

They are trying to make me study more now, and its true that i should study more, and am doing so now, but they think they need to control and manage my study time, which is pissing me off. My dad is telling me that i should be doing 5-6 hours a day, and that when he was in school he did 10 hours a day all the time. It's week 7 of the school year here, in year 12(final year), have only had 2 assessments so far, both chemistry, both A's. I think i can manage myself, and hopefully they will let me, but I think I'll have to wait for the mid year report before they stop hassling me.

That's messed up man, I'm sorry. I can't believe parents try to mold their kids into what they want. Let your kids be what the want to be (as long as they're not breaking laws, doing drugs, etc.). I can't believe they threw away your books too, I'd be pissed. Just suck it up, til you can move out, then blow up to about 230lbs of muscle, and then explain to your parents you're still healthy.

Only the final year counts here, at the end of the year they rank all the students in the state, and give you a score which i think is from like something(maybe 0) to 99.95.
I need 90.35 for one course i want, another needs something like 96. I think i can get into the first university...

Sorry bout the parents man. That is rediculous. This article comes to mind though, check it out. Really, weight has nothing to do with it. There is no standard "ideal weight."

Plugged in my stats real quick into a teen BMI calculator, got this:
Quote:
Results

Based on the height and weight entered, the BMI is 26.9, placing the BMI-for-age at the 92nd percentile for boys aged 16 years 7 months. This teen is at risk of becoming overweight.
Clearly I'm overweight. I'm in the best shape of my life, bigger, faster, and stronger than ever. Yet, according to the BMI I'm in the worst shape of my life.

If they won't let you lift anymore stick with the body weight stuff to keep the strength up. Pushups, pullups, inverted rows, single leg squats, lunges, etc.

buy tons of protein bars, or make them yourself, and hide them in your room. Then just chow down on them at night.

Thats a bunch of shit,

Maybe tell them about me. Borderline alcoholic, getting into shit that I dont even want to talk about on here. If I continued down that path who knows where it would have have led me.. I know it wouldnt have been good. Getting shit grades too.

Started lifting, started trying to get results (so, got diet and rest in check). Bam, instantly no more partying, drinking etc. Now my grades are fine, I have an awesome girlfriend, and I live the whole lifestyle.

The BMI thing is not right, it even says right on most of the charts its for people without lots of muscle.

It sounds like they want you to take some sort of academic 'high road'. And lifting = meathead. The amount of people who have degrees, phds, whatever on here is probally higher then most sites.

The only thing I regret about lifting is not starting earlier in life. I feel bad for saying this, because I feel its 99% the right thing to do what your parents say, but they are uneducated. Show them this site, show them what it means, the health benifits, the quality of life increasing, the list goes on.

one more thing...they may not say this, but they may just associate heavy lifting with steroid usage. I know it sounds ridiculous, when I told my dad I wanted to weigth 200, he freaked out and told me I didn't have the genetics. Seemed he was just concerned about me juicing.

Maybe tell your parents that you don't plan to take steroids?

olympic style squats (damn low)
140lbs x 10
230 x 10
300 x 10

Stiff leg deads
140 x 10
300 x 15 (way up? who knows)

Underhand Grip Rows

160 x 25

1 arm Curls

42.5 x 10

9 Mar 07 - DE SQ/DL; Cycle 1, Week 2

Mobility
Ab Stabilization
Hip Flexor Stretch / Bird-Dogs
90-90 Stretch / One-Legged BW GM's

*Key - Weight x sets x reps
(Sorry, posted it backwards last time, I like this way better)

a) DE Box Squat
205 x 10 x 2
225 x 1 x 1
255 x 1 x 1
285 x 1 x 1
315 x 1 x 1

Surprised I felt good enough to work up today, when I work up on DE day I go until I slow down or until I hit a rep over 80%, whichever comes first, today both happened at the same time, 315 was a little slower than all others, but still very fast, felt strong. I work up once in the 3-week cycle, whenever I feel good.

b) DE Deadlift:
315 x 4 x 3 (step back from bar b/t sets)
405 x 1 x 1
275 x 1 x 10 (kept hands on bar, but no bouncing)

Tried something new today, was training with a couple guys I met a couple weeks ago, both powerlifters. The older guy powerlifted for about 9 years and squatted 800+, benched 500+, and pulled 700+, and he's not that heavy, he's a strong dude. So he's showing me some stuff

c1) Back Ext. GHR:
light band x 3 x 12,12,8
c2) Hanging Leg Raise:
BW x 3 x 10,10,8

d1) Cable Dimel DL:
190 x 1 x 15
200 x 1 x 15
d2) Side Cable Oblique Crunches:
120 x 1 x 15
130 x 1 x 15

d) Corrective Stretches

What I learned today:
