Default Resistance Running

Any of you guys doing any type of resistance running, now or in the past?

I have a meet to qualify for USAPL Collegiate Nationals this Saturday. After taking a week off I was thinking about adding in a day of resistance running for a type of 'active recovery' type workout.

It would do a few sets of running with a speed chute, speed sled, and resistance band and running both forward and backward.

I squat on Sundays and Deadlift on Thursdays so I would probably do this on Tuesdays.

Just thought I would get some opinions and insight on if this would negatively or positively affect my strength training.

EDIT: Sorry I put this in the wrong section. Any mods that can move this to the Oly/PL/SM training section for me?

I've done resistance band stuff as a part of ACL rehab and really liked it. Basically run forward to a cone, then sidestep to another cone and then run back. It really helped rebuild the explosive power in my legs and is a lot of fun. Now did it transfer to my lifting? I can't imagine it hurt.

Good to hear. Explosiveness is my main goal. I've notice the difference between my raw and geared squat is insane and I think a lot of that has to do with lack of explosion out of the hole.

I love doing chain/band work and I figure transferring that to running would be fun as hell.
