It's absolutely hilarious that he dropped 22lbs. in 12 hrs. didnt make weight, so had to compete as a heavyweight and ended up winning the heayweight division.
I just read the thread. Lots of opportunity for him to reem guys that could be 'keyboard warriors' (not that they are, just sayin' he could probably challenge just about anyone to post an unequipped 10rm squat video anywhere near his) and instead he takes the high road, explains why it's hard to hit depth in a suit, and challenges himself publicly for a deeper, heavier squat at his next meet.

Multi-ply squats are so shit to watch, they unrack the bar shaking like crazy like they are about to fall over, take 10 years to get to "6 inches high" depth.
The bench pressing is sorta like that, although not as bad, but it takes years to touch the chest, and then the weight pops up like a feather lol.
This is why deadlifting rocks!

I think that shows alot about him saying that about his own Squat, that he has alot of integrity. Matt is a strong as hell lifter, but that was a pretty high squat!
well, he is getting HRT... of course, that doesn't mean he's not on other stuff, but hell, who isn't?! Everything i've read from him makes him sound like a stand up guy.
I agree with what everyone said about him saying his own squat was high. I remember Del (aaron and matt know him) saying that is what Mikesell used to teach to them; that everyone needs to be accountable for their squats and take credit when it's due and not when it's not. I totally agree and respect anyone who does it.
