Come one come all to the third Couple's Fitness Competition on Saturday, August 15th at 9am.
Consisting of six events, it will be held at the original Muscle Beach location next to the Santa Monica Pier.
We've got some great prizes including consultations and complete blood work by a nutritionist, massages, ART/Chiropractic sessions, restaurant gift certs, and supplements.
Visit the website to register and for more information on the events and prizes. There is a discount for registering early. Cost is $35 per couple, with 20% being donated to charities such as the Surfrider Foundation.
The six events are:
1. Turkish getups with a heavy sandbag for max reps in 60 seconds.
2. Kettlebell snatch for max reps in 3 minutes (one hand switch) guys 16kg, women 8kg
3. Metabolic circuit: 20 inverted rows, 100 jump rope singles, 20 box jumps, 100 jump rope singles
4. Rope tug of war. Last couple standing wins
5. partner wheelbarrow race (one person on hands, one holding their feet)
6. Obstacle course (may involve rope climbing, farmer's carry, sprinting, agility)
And if you don't have a partner let me know and I can hook you up. It's likely you'll get a local trainer as a partner, so if you don't mind competing together with some hot fit trainer chick...
Roland, I've got a certain celebrity that needs a partner and could use your skills. Are you in?
Any questions just get ahold of me.

Would she want to is the real question... She could probably carry you on her back.

Here it is in all it's glory.
Man, there were some ugly snatches going on! haha
And I bet Roland is still recovering from that metabolic circuit.

Looks like everyone had a good time. What a great idea. Hope we can do something like this in my neck of the woods eventually.
Thanks Dave. Wanna start a Taiwan affiliate?
Serious sig heils! For some it was their first shot at snatches for time. And some just needed a bigger bell.
But fun was had by all. More to come in January.

Great. Be sure to post video. I think this stuff is a great motivator. I get too serious sometimes with clients and this looks like a great way to inject some fun into it.
Good stuff, Chris. You make those of us that don't live at beach envious.
