From Knowledge and Nonsense

When eating eggs, get rid of the yolk
It isn’t unusual for bodybuilders to consume 8–10 egg whites in one sitting. When you think about this practice, it is kind of odd because the yolk is the most nutrient dense part of the egg. One large egg contains about five grams of fat coming mostly from oleic acid (monounsaturated fat). It is rich in vitamins A and D, riboflavin, folate, and vitamin B-12. The fear of yolk consumption comes from the high cholesterol content.”…………….

From Protein Essentials

“Protein needs for athletes and bodybuilders
Over the past few decades, there has been an ongoing argument over protein requirements for athletes and bodybuilders. Some recommendations seem extremely low while others seem very high. Registered dietitians often argue that athletes do not need any more protein than sedentary individuals. On the other hand, coaches, athletes, and bodybuilders suggest substantially higher protein intake is necessary for athletic performance and physique enhancement. Scientists are also in disagreement, as their recommendations vary greatly. Real world experience as well as recommendations from various sources needs to be examined.”

From MaxCondition

“MaxCondition Speed Training
My athletes generally perform speed training 2–3 times per week. Keep in mind, this is not written in stone as all training protocols are subject to change. I prefer to use max effort training one time per week while I promote submaximal training 1–2 times per week.”

From The Carbohydrate Files

“Introduction
Everyone is familiar with carbohydrates these days. Everywhere we go, we see net carbohydrates, whole wheat, low carbs, etc. The low carb worshipers are constantly preaching the evils of carbs while the high carb supporters are always reminding us that we have to eat a bunch of carbs to survive. Guess what? Neither one of them have a clue about what they are talking about.”
