5 Expert Interviews + More Christmas Gifts
Hey All,
Here's something I think many of you will be interested in. And since it's training-related, I figured this was the right place.
Enjoy,
JB
The back story...
It's rare, very rare, to find experts who BOTH walk the walk AND talk the talk. Experts who are down to earth. Experts who spend their free time BOTH in the gym and in the books. Experts who just know their stuff backwards and forwards, and who are willing to share their knowledge with others.
Well, last week, myself and my team had the chance to interview five of them, five of the absolute best.
If you dont know these people, you can meet them for the first time. And if you do know them, youll learn a little bit more about what makes them tick.
So, who are the experts, and what will they be talking about?
Today: Body Transformation for Men, by Carter Schoffer
Tuesday: Program Design for Beginner Females, by Krista Scott-Dixon
Wednesday: Bodybuilding, by Christian Thibaudeau
Thursday: Athletic Preparation, by Eric Cressey
Friday: Powerlifting, by Dave Tate
And how do you get access to the interviews?
Well, you can keep checking back here as I'll be posting all 5 links over the course of the week.
Or you can just plug in and sign up for our free newsletter. By doing so, we'll keep you abreast of all the cool happenings at JB.com and PN.com - including info on when these interviews are running and where you can find them.
Here's how to get plugged in:
http://www.johnberardi.com/newsletter/
So where's today's interview?
You can find the first interview - with coach Carter Schoffer - here:
http://www.precisionnutrition.com/carter-schoffer.html
And what about these "Christmas Gifts" you mention?
Well, check this out.
Each expert above has generously agreed to design a training program to integrate perfectly with the nutrition principles outlined in my Precision Nutrition prgroam.
Each program is focused on that experts area of expertise: body transformation, womens training, bodybuilding, athletic preparation and powerlifting. Five experts, five interviews, five goals, five programs, five days, all this week.
Now, for Precision Nutrition customers/members, those programs are available to you for no charge. Consider those Christmas gifts #2 through #6. (Gift #1 was the Results Tracker and gift #7 - well, that one is a BIG surprise).
And for non-members, hurry up and pick up a copy of PN. Not only do you get the 5 Precision Nutrition manuals, the Gourmet Nutrition cook book, the 2 DVDs, the 2 Audio CDs, and the lifetime access to our member's only PN forum. You also get our Christmas bonuses including the 5 programs mentioned above and a few other surprises we have in store and will be releasing in the next few weeks.
I dare ya to find a better total training, nutrition, and fitness solution anywhere (and yep, I'm biased - I wrote the thing!)

You are welcome -- enjoy this content -- it's out of this world. Seriously, I'm humbled by the thoughts and words of wisdom shared by these great coaches in their interviews. And their programs -- don't even get me started.
Tate walks us through a powerlifting progression that's smart and very results-driven. Christian offers up 24+ weeks of bodybuilding training including pre-contest and off-season training. Cressey opens up a can of whup azz on conventional methods of sport training during the off-season, sharing some great, targeted programming. Carter shares the secrets that help our clients lose unreal amounts of fat while also gaining lean body mass faster than you thought possible. And Krista tackles female training in a unique and refreshing way.
I can't say enough about these folks for sharing this info -- if you pay attention to all the lessons taught in the interviews plus the programs, you'll be both smarter and more adaptable in the gym, leap-frogging past what you thought were sticking points and "genetic" limitations.

John, I ought to thank you by e-mail instead of here on the forum, but THANKS! Man, I just saw the program by Schoffer (as well as got access to RT today - my wife is helping me do the measurements tonight!). You are very, very generous. If you need any product feedback or business feedback (I teach management and marketing and run my own biz), let me know and I will be glad to help as much as I can.
To everyone else, here's my unsolicited testimonial. I've bought a few items from JB in the past and they were very useful and top notch. Those who met him in LR a few years back know that he is as knowledgeable as he is nice. And the products above are worth it even if you only got Gourmet Nutrition, written by Berardi and our own Johnka. I can't tell you how useful that book has been when I wanted to eat cleanly (but eat tasty foods). If you are on the fence about buying any of his nutrition products, don't hesitate: you won't regret the purchase.

Thanks for the feedback and the positive review of our work! I hope our PN forums and add-ons (including this week's) provide a lot of value for you.
And yes, we can always use business feedback as well - we're just a bunch of sport/training/science guys trying to find a way to continue doing what we love! So feel free to mail me or even start a PN post anytime you want to share your expertise.

Well, there's an interesting thread going on about fitness businesses and products and the internet and a summary of that thread here. Nothing you may not already sense or know through your experience, but it is kind of like a mini-focus group, showing the minds of real fitness consumers and may be of interest to you or something to take note of and keep in the back of your business files.

Ok, folks, here's interview and program #2. The interview is free for all. The program is only for PN customers/members.
Program #2
Program Design for Beginner Women was created by Dr. Krista Scott-Dixon, professor of Women's Studies at York University and creator of the awesome training site for women, http://www.stumptuous.com.
If you've never been to the site before, check it out -- she has a ton of great articles on there, along with a blog she updates almost daily with new studies, articles, fitness-related news and the like. The quality of information on the site is excellent.
Here's the interview we did with her:
http://www.precisionnutrition.com/kr...ott-dixon.html
The program is designed for beginner women, those new to weight training. It doesn't assume or require any experience, and does a great job of explaining all the fundamentals a beginner needs to know. In fact, the actual workouts would be equally suited to a beginner male. Krista puts it this way:
Now, the fact that a training program has to be individualized does not mean that women need special pink-coloured exercises. Your age, ability, other activities, and goals, are much, much more important than your gender in determining how you should train. A male and female middle-aged beginner have more in common with one another than an 18-year-old female varsity athlete and an obese sedentary older woman.
What makes this program especially suited to females is the extended introduction, which is written specifically for women. It's a pretty thorough tutorial that covers nearly every question that women have when they're just starting out. In fact, every man who coaches women or otherwise advise them would do well to read that part -- it's almost a script that you could read to your female clients and trainees verbatim. Very good stuff.
The program contains two parts: one PDF explaining the whole thing, and one Excel spreadsheet containing editable versions of the workout template that you can use to change things up and record your progress.
Again, start with the interview here:

Ok, it's day 3, so here's today's interview and program update.
As stated yesterday, the interviews are free for all - just click the link and have at it. But to gain access to the programs, you have to be a PN member/customer. Whatever your level of interest, there's something here for everyone.
Now, down to business...
I'm really happy to be able to announce today's PN member gift, a brand new 24-week training program by my good friend and colleague, Christian Thibaudeau.
Christian is one of the most highly respected strength coaches in the world. Formerly a competitive Olympic lifter, he has recently shifted the focus of his own training towards aesthetics and bodybuilding. So I was thrilled when he offered to design a bodybuilding program for PN members, and when I saw what he came up with, I was blown away.
The program is titled, 'Off-Season and Pre-Contest Training for Bodybuilders.' It's designed for advanced trainees who aspire to compete on stage, but even beginners and intermediates will learn a ton just reading through it. Take a look at the table of contents:
* Off-Season / Mass Gaining Phase 1: Neural Potentiation (3 weeks)
* Off-Season / Mass Gaining Phase 2: Isolation Activiation & Pre-Fatigue (4 weeks)
* Off-Season / Mass Gaining Phase 3: Triphasic Hypertrophy (3 weeks)
* Pre-Contest Phase 4: Low Volume / High Intensity (4 weeks)
* Pre-Contest Phase 5: High Density / Loading Conjugate (4 weeks)
* Pre-Contest Phase 6: High Density (3 weeks)
* Pre-Contest Phase 7: Peaking (1 week)
How good is that?
We were able to chat with Christian by phone last week, and we've transcribed the call so you can all read the interview here:
http://www.precisionnutrition.com/ch...hibaudeau.html
And for PN members, you can download the program on the precisionnutrition.com forum here:
http://precisionnutrition.com/member...ead.php?t=3970
[Membership Required.]
And if you like it, please make sure you post in that thread and let Christian know.
Enjoy,
JB

Day 4 - Eric Cressey
Ok, day 4 - and Cressey's turn! Today we release another PN program (to PN customers/members) designed to integrate with the Precision Nutrition program.
The program is entitled, "Off-Season Training for Athletes," and was designed by our good friend -- and one of the best young strength coaches in the world -- Eric Cressey.
We've known Eric for a long time, and you'd be hard pressed to find someone as knowledgeable and enthusiastic about training and exercise science anywhere.
If you haven't read his articles, check them out at www.t-nation.com or at www.ericcressey.com. To find out more about Eric, here's the interview we did with him recently:
http://www.precisionnutrition.com/eric-cressey.html
(free to all)
And to get access to Cressey's program ( as well as Christian's, Krista's, Carter's and Tate's), check out Precision Nutrition:
