Are you are hard gainer?
Are you tired of not being able to pack on slabs of muscle?
Do you feel doomed to be skinny?
If so then keep reading....
Chad Waterbury and I are looking for a hardgainer guinea pig for "The Hardgainer Project". If selected for this project Chad will design the training program, and I will design the nutritional and supplementation program that will get you out of your "skinny slump". Plus you will get featured in a T-Nation article.
The catch is...we're only picking ONE guy. So if you think you should be the one picked for the HG Project tell us why in a post below or PM me.
I would love to be the guinea pig in this project. I have been working out consistently for about 2 years. I have done Scrawny to Brawny, and other hypertrophy programs, and went from 129 lbs. to 154 lbs. by the end of last summer. I gained only 4 lbs. in 3 months last summer while eating close to 5,000 cals./day. I feel like I have to eat a ridiculous amount to put on any weight, and I am sick of being stuck on this plateau. Although I have been consistently getting stronger, the size is not coming with it. I am 27 years old, currently 152 lbs., and am 5'10". I feel I would be a good challenge for you guys, and I would be dedicated to the program. So I invite you to bring it on!!!
Bulking Up (Ben)
Perhaps you can choose several people, each from a different age group. Say 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, etc.. This way we can see the results of the training/nutrition program and determine what works/doesn't work for each age group.
I would be interested to see what, if any, changes would be made for each age group. I myself fall into the 40-49 age group, and would be interested to follow the results of the person chosen.

I think Ben would be a good choice. He's a hard worker and he would be 300 pounds if he was actually able to gain weight like a normal person.

Ben's a great choice. He has all the attributes you're looking for and will give it his all. You couldn't do better than him, Mike. Seriously.

You'd be crazy not to pick Ben with these recommendations.
Seriously, I think Ben would be a good choice. I've known him for a few years and he is a good guy. I've listened to him talk about his fitness journey, and it reads just like the candidate you are looking for.

1. He is a really really hard gainer. I think you would be hard pressed to find a harder hard gainer.
2. More importantly, he works his ass of in the gym. He is disciplined and motivated. He has enough experience under the bar that it would not be hard to "virtual train" him.
3. Perhaps equally importantly, he will not "punk out" on you. He will follow the program, he will complete the program. He will not leave YOU feeling empty or short changed by a lack of effort.
4. He is disciplined and will follow your program including the eating.
5. By the responses to this thread, you can see he is well liked and respected in one of the most respectable forums on the net. What a great recommendation that is.
OK guys, chime in.
Also, you know we will be following his progress and supporting him as only this community can!
Sincerely,
Peter

Definitely Ben. He's been trying so hard and has made some gains, but could probably be further along with the guidance of you and Chad. And like Pete said he won't punk out on you. He'll do your program with 150% commitment.

I think Ben is the ideal candidate. I know he is committed to putting on some serious poundage, and has been working his ass of the past couple of years to do so.
(Now, if you need a volunteer for a "Hard Loser" program . . . )

You really need to give STRONG consideration to including Ben (Bulking Up) for this opportunity. I've gotten to know him rather well over the past couple of years and I know he's struggling with getting bigger and he has the desire to gain size. I can assure you that should you choose him, he'll follow your program to a "T".

Wow, great post, Pete. I can affirm all of those. Ben's it. I speaketh, and no one dare contradict me.
Thank you to everyone that showed interested in participating in this project. I will be contacting the chosen one soon. If you don't hear from me it means that you were not chosen for this project and I'm sorry that I couldn't contact your personally but the response was rather overwhelming. Keep an eye out for the article in the upcoming weeks.
Thanks,
Mike
