My youngest son, Ethan, who is 16 months old, after having just gotten his first official haircut today. His hair was getting so long it was outta control... Didn't want people to mistake him for a little girl!
Here is my daughter, Sophie, blowing out candles at her 4th birthday party (it was a princess theme).
Here is me, making her birthday cake. I always go a little crazy on the birthday cakes. I use real butter cream frosting, and mix all my own colors. I am proud to say though, that I didn't have one piece of cake!
And here is the finished product:
And here is Sophie in her room, proudly posing in one of her new outfits she got for her birthday.
Awwwww! Great pics JP! Your kids are adorable..and they look really happy too!
Impressed with the cake making (and not eating) skills!! Did you make the whole thing or just pose for the picture and let Erika finish up??
jp, this is the second time you've beat me to the punch. earlier today i dug up your kid pix thread from oct/nov and was going to bump it with updated pictures of my two. i didn't get chance to update my website so it never happened.
Sophie looks much older than 4. she probably acts it too if i can be so bold as to extrapolate my daughter's behavior. she's definitely a cutie. when is Sophie's birthday? My son's 4th was Feb 2.
Good work on the cake man, which turret houses the gym?
On the same vein, I got a pretty disgusted look at work the other day when they asked what kind of cake I wanted for my birthday and I said, "I really don't want a cake"

I do recognize how fortunate I am... I never take that for granted.
HR, put those pics up on this thread. I love seeing everyone else's kids!
As for my daughter, her actual birthday is in January, but since it is so close to X-mas we celebrate it in early Feb so she can have a proper party. She is big for her age. She's almost as tall as her 6 year old brother, and she's a good half-a-head taller than the next tallest kid in her class. The other two are right on target. She seems to have gotten one of those stray tall genes. She was 22 inches tall when she was born! (over the 100th percentile)

Thanks JP. Do you know how tall Sophie is? I'd like to compare her height to my son's. Every morning as we walk to the kitchen i think "man he's getting big".
Here's one of my all-time favorite pictures of my daughter. Arden will be two in two weeks.
Btw, Cappy - the cake is ALL JP. It does take me planning the party theme and getting him to like what I pick but then he runs with it. I bake, he decorates. He has had some great ones.
Hard_Rox - I think Sophie is about 38". I love the names you picked for the kids, they are adorable. I see why that is your favorite picture of your daughter, it melted my heart!
According to Erika, Sophie was about 38" about 6 months ago, but we're not sure how much she has grown in the last six months. I am going to measure her tomorrow. She's probably taller than that by now. She's taller than the kids in the next class up. She's so skinney too. It's so wild how they stop looking like babies all of a sudden (and kinda sad too!).
HR, those are some beautiful kids! Arden is going to be a heartbreaker with that expression, which she will only have mastered by her early 20's. Poor college boys. She'll have them carrying her books, buying her lunch, and mowing the lawn at her sorority house. I'm with Erika... Arden is a great name!
Gobbla: your daughter is substantially bigger since your last picture!! pretty blue eyes and a very infectious smile. i'd say she's a keeper!!!
JP & Erica: Rowan is a tad shy of 42 inches high, which puts him in the 80-85 percentile. it's interesting how growth rates vary between siblings & genders. i'd suspect Sophie is just as tall, if not taller. hopefully Rowan will follow the men on his mother's side and end up over 6-feet tall. otherwise he's doomed to be a runt like those on his father's.
Gobbla, those your blue eyes or the wife's? Better keep her locked up when she turns 14.
And really people..isn't Rowan just about the greatest name you could give someone? What a blessing!
JP..your kids are very cute..I like the punky brewster tights on sophie!
She's deffinately got my wifes eyes. Her's are like the "blue of an early dawn", while mine are more of a greyish\greenish "that stuff that you find in the bottom of the sink when you haven't done the dishes in three weeks".
Cherish every moment with them while you can, before you know they will be teenagers and they will more interested in other things. They grow up way too fast!! My oldest daughter is 18 and will on her way to Univ. of Pittsburgh next year!! The youngest is going to be 14 in May. Between the the two of them they got so much going on that it's hard to get as much quality time with them as I use to.
Point is enjoy while you can!!
Here's some updated photos of my kids from today. The boys are really growing quickly.
My older son (he's 7 now) after his baseball game this morning. His team is the 'Scrappers' and their mascot is a bulldog with a studded collar and a hardhat.
My younger one (he's 4 now). Yeah, he's pretty independent and outgoing, as the pic might show.
Me and the boys - my summer 'tan' is in full swing. Reefs are now the footwear of choice. Hmmm, I should use this as a progress pic in my log.
Whenever you guys start posting your "kids pix," I can't help but post some of my own. Here's my "baby" some years back and then again just a couple years ago:
YES, THEY DO GROW UP FAST SO ENJOY EVERYDAY!!!
We've got lots of pictures of all of us and different combinations - wish we had stock in Kodak over the years! - but I just posted one of all of us in another thread from a couple weeks ago so I just chose these.
