Wouldnt dare enter the teritory of Mahlers motivational thoughts but I just love the soundbites n stuff to motivate:

Pain is fat leaving the body

Obsession is a word used by the lazy to explain the dedicated

Realising the dream

Anyone else care to share????

Pain is my spine ripping free from the skin and running away, yelping like a beaten puppy, leaving a little bloody trail behind it after doing a max dead lift (think "Alien").

They're good, although I'm pretty sure Mahler used the "obsession" one about two years ago, both at Men's Health and here at JP's place.

And don't worry about JP, he's been maxing out on deadlifts lately.

My own personal quote on obsession was from a longer statement I wrote about attaining goals.
It goes like this: "those who do not understand will see only vanity, self interest & obsession. Their words will give to them the affirmation that they so desperately need in justifying never having tried."

A little wordy, but I think I captured the moment.

I often read quotes that use anaolgies about pain and what it compares to. My personal thoughts?
"Pain is pain, and those willing to endure it will be the victorious."

I appreciate your post and please do not feel I have a lock on the territory. Motivation comes from within more than anything I can say or write.
A few words can fuel a desire. Keep up the good work.
