Just a heads up that I've taken a job in Denver, and I'll be moving there in 2 weeks. So I won't be around the forums very often while I'm moving and getting adjusted.
I just wish I could have moved up there at the beginning of summer, to avoid this crazy Dallas heat
Anyone else here live in Denver? Maybe I can get the lowdown on a good gym.

Heck yes!
Yeah man, if you want to, I can suggest some very nice gyms for you. Are you teaching up here? Where at?

Man, I'm jealous! I lived down the road in Colorado Springs for a few years and have to say that Colorado is one of the most beautiful places anywhere.

Good luck John. I wish I could've made it to Dallas to take you up on the dinner invitation. Now it looks like I'll just have to go skiing.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Is it similar to what we do in oil and gas? Before we drill a location we have to have it cleared as a potential archeological site. All my experience is offshore but I sure the same thing applies on land.
Thank you continuing the offer.

Well, right now, I have an apt. downtown, and work in Broomfield, which is about 1/2 way between Denver and Boulder. I have family in Boulder so I'm in between a lot. I spend most of my time Downtown, unless I'm training in Boulder. Glad to show you around a bit if you're living downtown. And I can show you a few places to take your pup too!

Enjoy Denver, I lived there for a year, in the captial hill area. It can be a rough city, be careful where you go at night. Seriously. I found myself in a few life-or-death situations in that city. 10pm< stay off Colfax! LOL
Wow... I am jealous. I lived in Denver back in the 80's and I loved it. If you are downtown I highly recommend the newly developed area, LowDo. There are some really cool gyms in that area too. I grew up in the mountains around Leadville.
BTW, I am planning a trip to Colo this month... Hoping to do a "hut-to-hut" mountain bike ride and some rock climbing with my best friend who lives in Berkeley. If I make it up that way we definitely need to get together. Maybe you can ride with us. If you can't make that, you can join us toward the end when we spend a couple of days under a really big freakin' rock!
Ive noticed that very few people here is from a big city, its pretty cool.

Exactly. It's called CRM (cultural resource management). Our company has a geologist, biologist, and myself, and we make bids to survey any area before construction. I'll be doing the archaeology side of things: surveying, excavating, writing reports, etc.
Look me up if you're ever drilling in Colorado

Excellent. I'm also commuting between downtown and my work, although it's not as far as yours (Westminster). I found a really neat renovated historic apartment downtown that I couldn't pass up. I'll definitely look you up when I get over there.

When are you coming JP? My move-in date is August 11. I'll be moving in that weekend, and then starting work on the 15. But I'd definitely be down with some mountain biking, hiking, etc.
JP's suggestion is dead on. I live in LoDo, and it's just awesome. So many fun places, a HUGE REI, the South Platte, and a really big park. I take my dog out to the river everyday since it's right outside my apt.
K - you'll have to give me a call too. I might be in Australia at that point, but if I'm here, we'll go grab a low carb beer

Congrats on the new job and the move, Johnka! I've visited Denver a few times and been skiing in the Lake Dillan area. You're gonna love the area! Man, I think I'm jealous.....
Nah, can't be. Green's not my colour!
