If anyone knows the 495-Capital Beltway, you know it is probably the busiest, fastest moving beltways around. This woman, got mad at her 4-year-old child, who was in the car with her, so she put him OUT OF HER CAR ONTO THE BELTWAY, and when he tried to get back in, she drove off hitting him and knocking him to the ground. Police caught up with her 30miles down the road.

Complete story here

Case study # 2,475,226 for why some people shouldn't be parents. Instead of arguing if abortion should be legal we should be exploring if - in some cases - it should be MANDATORY!

Man, save the costs of abortion and induce sterilization. Fewer taxpayer dollars wasted that way.

Maybe I should reconsider my position.

TVF,
Have you read this thread in the CE forum yet? Some more fodder for your thought processes...

Not sure what that thread has to do with this post JP, but I'd propose sterilization for half-breeds like this mother. Should of never had a kid in the first place. Can Homeland Security come up with a profile for these folks like they do for terrorists, or do we want that? Half-breed alert code orange?

That story is getting press around here because the stupid bitch crashed into the guardrail and another car just north of town. The police must have already been looking for her, because they nailed her on putting her boy out on the Beltway at the same time.
They interviewed a friend of hers and she said that 'she never has acted that way before.'

Yeah, sure.

They tried sterlization before during the Eugenics movement. It happened in Nazi Germany and it happened here. Women of lower classes were sterlized just because. Blacks were sterelized just because. Social outcasts, etc....

Learn from history or be forever condemned to repeat it.

Thanks JP!

no, I've tried to avoid the CE forum until I am more able to discuss and debate my point of view intelligently rather than emotionally. I've been super busy with end of my summer semester coming up that alot of things are taking a back seat to papers and exams right now. That said, my heart sunk when I saw the Frist headline recently; it just seems that the Republicans can't stay united on anything.

Stories like this thing in VA and others really do make me question my stance, but abortion just seems so wrong to me....

But you have to wonder what goes on in some peoples head sometimes. There is absolutely nothing my daughter could do to make me even think of doing a thing so horrendous. Hopefully this woman will never be able to be around children again and that this child will be placed in a loving family.

You and I are in complete agreement on this one, TVF. Just reading it about another child made me want to cry for that little child. If the mother is capable of that, it is safe to assume that she is not a doting, loving, affectionate mother outside of this incident.

I guess that is why I wanted you to read that other thread... I am trying to illustrate that not ALL of us love our children and raise them right, even though we SHOULD.

No kidding. Sterilization of idiots, appealing though it may be, would just freak too many people out, not to mention it's potential for abuse. But I think that some sort of unbiased competency exam should be in place for breeding, voting, etc. 'just my 2 cents.

Not sterilization for idiots. Sterilization for EVERYONE. To become fertile you have to establish yourself with another stable partner and live together at least 6-10 years, then attend child rearing classes to attain a license. Starting to really appeal to me in a sick sort of way. The decision wouldn't lie in an individual's subjective judgement. If someone passed the test they get to have a baby... Just like that. If someone passes the driver test they get to drive a car. The rest is up to them. No limit on numbers either. Once your fertile, your fertile, until you decide to turn it off again so you can have "safe" sex.

The article doesn't really say what happened to the boy. I suppose he's OK (or as OK as he can be given that his Mom put him out on a friggin' freeway!) since he was able to talk to police. Too bad the piece focussed on the loser Mom so much and not on the kid. Hope the rest of his family rallies round him.

now JP, i know you're being hyperbolic to make a point, but the idea of a test being unbiased is also false. They tried that as a voting requirement way way way back in the day. It was discriminatory against blacks and immigrants, many of whom couldn't speak english or could but could not write or read. And of course, the instructor you have for each class introduces a human element of variety. AND, there's plenty of peole who could pass such a test, but still do something insane like shove a kid onto a heavily trafficed highway because he or she was aggrivated with the little one.
