Made the drive back from Myrtle Beach a few days ago (7 hours worth) and noticed a little stiffness in my legs at the end. No problem right? I'm 41, shouldn't be a big deal...
Well my right knee is still having some problems. Had some problems manuvering the stairs (have to go down at a bit of an angle), and the worst one - was shooting some baskets with my son, made a drive to the basket and when I tried to jump off my right leg, the knee said " I don't think so!" It's right behind my knee cap, towards the bottom part of it.
I will for sure be seeing a doctor later this week. I really wanted to start a new w/o, just finished 8 weeks of RRD v2.0 (loved it too) and was going to do something similiar to Phase 2 of HGM. I'm a bit bummed here.

Hang in there...go see the doc, find out what you're dealing with and give us a report. Sorry to hear you're bummed out, but you need to know what's going on before you try going forward.
In the meantime, pushups, pullups, dips, crunches and the bench press have little effect on your knees--so get going!
Alextown- It sounds a little bit like the tendonitis that I had in my knee after running a 1/2 marathon in the spring.
I didn't go see a doctor, so I can't really give you much advice. From the research I did, I found that icing my knee and stretching my quads every night helped it out.
I agree with jruck, only my problems were at the top of my kneecap rather than the bottom. Soreness, swelling, lasted a couple days. Maybe a mod can move this to the Injuries & Rehab forum so Bill can weigh in.

I'm going to talk to a PT tomorrow about tendonitis in one of my shoulders. I'd be glad to share whatever I learn if you think you have tendonitis in that knee.

Alextown - Spent some quality time with the PT this morning. I can't remember all the technical gobbledegook, but I am on a program that will strengthen the shoulder\back muscles. All of the exercises are done horizontal, to minimize the effect that gravity has on the tendons on top of the shoulder. I also have a little more movement in the shoulder socket on the side with pain than the other. Her opinion is that by strengthening the back muscles will change my posture, and correct the shoulder movement while allowing the tendons to heal. She also pumped my ego by saying 'You have really well developed shoulders, I am having a little trouble isolating your tendons.'
Some of the exercises are done twice a day and others just once. I have PT 2 times a week for the next 4 weeks. All the exercise sessions are followed with 15 minutes ice on the shoulder. Maybe some of the more 'trained' folks can offer you some pointers specific to your knee issue. If you think it would be beneficial, I can try to scan the exercise descriptions into my computer later this week. Hopefully, there is something I posted that will help also. Good luck and keep me posted.

well, the knee is feeling much better, and when I get back from Cali tomorrow, I am going to test it out (lunges, squats, etc).
I think I did figure something out though - I tend to curl my toes when I walk. I don't do it all the time, but I tried paying close attention to my movements over the last few days, and definitely noticed it. now, we were at mrytle beach a few days before I posted, and my wife talked me into getting some flip-flops. Wearing those things, I reeeeaaaaallllly curled them, I could even feel it in my calves the next day. While trying to walk more "normally", more frequently, I've found the knee pain has gone away. I wonder just how closely the two things are related? Weird.
