Did anyone catch his interview on 60 Minutes? I managed to see it totally by accident, but it was absolutely fascinating to hear him talk about so much of his life and his art. Rare, I think. He said he continues his nonstop touring to fulfill his destiny, his deal with you-know-who. And he also said the days of his great music writing are basically behind him, as the magic is now gone.

But did he have to talk in that singsong voice!
He sounded pretty out to lunch to me.

Don't know about his best writing days being gone. His last album has some of his best in years.

Keep in mind he's gone through rather long periods of mediocre work then will suddenly hit a creative streak.

Rare is an artist who consistently stays on one creative level. Life just doesn't allow for it.

See, periodization works in art too
