Some pics from my trip last week!

St Peter's Cathedral in Drogheda

New Grange burial mound, it's a neolithic structure.

Bunratty Castle in... Bunratty.

Tower at the top of the Cliffs of Moher (yes, the visibility sucked that day)

Howth

Malahide Castle

Old Mellifont Abbey, not much left of it!

I took about 200 pics, but haven't had a chance to do much with them yet. Awesome trip though. I need a few days to detox

Very cool thanks for sharing. I've been to London enough times to get sick of it, but the English countryside is beautiful and always worth seeing and I hear the Emerald Isle and the Scottish highlands are even prettier. One day.....

You shouldn't have taken the pictures in such good weather....people might get the wrong idea!

Newgrange predates the Pyramids by bout 1000yrs by the way.

Now I feel homesick...

Mist and fog in Ireland...never saw that coming. Nice pics. Thanks for taking me "home".

BTW...while the States don't have this, they don't have the Grand Canyon....it's all about where you are, not where you're not.

Okay I'm chiming in. Beautiful pictures. I've tromped all over GB looking at castles, cathedrals, mounds, stones etc. Can't get enough of it. Dying for a trip to walk and/or cycle Hadrian's Wall. And a hike at Snowdon. and.....
Thanks for sharing the pics and sending me dreaming! AHHHH Of course, they don't have the rockies or the smokies now do they??

Did u go to blarney castle at all? Dublin? Waterford?

How long was your trip? Sounds like you had a great time. I have relatives in County Cork, and went and visited them for the first time a couple years back. Great times!

I'm ready to go back!

wow lots of responses hehe. Just got home from work. I was there for 12 days for a family reunion. Made sure I got out to the pubs every night, met lots of locals! The trip was Drogheda -> Ballaghadreen (with stops in Carrick on Shannon) -> Galway -> Bunratty -> Cliffs of Moher -> Dublin -> Drogheda.

New Grange is just west of Drogheda. I had tried to post more pics, but it was only allowing 8 per post! I was too tired to mess with it longer. I'll put up more tonight!

It was awesome, but I was drinking WAY too much guinness. Time to get back to eating healthier. Found out today my PT test is next week - good timing on that one

How bout some pub pics?

Outside of Gogarty's pub in the Temple Bar district of Dublin

The band!

The crowd!

Durty Nelly's bar, right outside of Bunratty Castle.

Supposedly the best pint of Guinness in all of Ireland, according to the folks that dragged us out to a bar in the middle of nowehere, Ireland.

The bar in the middle of nowhere.

Jonnie Fox's Pub - supposedly the highest pub in Ireland, it's just south of Dublin in the mountains.

The band in the pub, note Col Sanders on banjo.

Four alters

Some castle in the middle of a cow field, I forget the name.

St James Gate! Yay Guinness.

Monasterboise, a round tower built around 900 AD. That high cross in the middle of the pic was something like 5.5m high and is about the same age of the tower.

Hmm, i don't think i saw the smoking bus. That doesn't sound familiar.

I'd like to go back again soon, I really liked being over there. Too bad there's no Air Force bases there
