Just some personal notes I thought I'd share.

I'm about 5'10 - 5'11, as a teenager I could get more than my entire fingers above the ring with a standing start (easy fold the fingers over the ring), and in play would basically just roll the ball off my hand into the basket on a layup. A few months ago when I started playing basketball with some mates, with a running start I would miss the ring by a good 5-6 inches. About 10kg of extra weight doesnt help . Anyway I checked again on the weekend and I'm now only about an inch off touching the ring with a running start. A long way to go, but good to see some progress happenning.

On a less good note it was the AFL grandfinal on Saturday, a day of watching TV and eating bbq and drinking beer. Nothing too bad, but weakened the old willpower and for dinner I thought f' it, and got mc'donalds. First time for a year. Dissappointing, but given how my stomach felt afterwards its going to be a damned long time before I do it again. After eating healthy for a long time, I just cant stomach crap food anymore. At least a lesson learned even if I do regret it.
