Thumbs up

OK, I'll admit it. I rushed our usual family walk this evening (gotta spend some quality time with the fam burning kcals) to watch the premiere of Lost. Considering I don't watch much TV other than football, Survivor, and stuff on PBS (OK, I'll cop to watching Alias and According to Jim on occasion), getting excited to watch a show is pretty rare.

I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the pilot! I'm sure there is no where for this show to go but down now. I was literally glued to my seat, something that virtually never happens.

If you didn't catch it, and you like adventure books or shows, check it out.

You have me intrigued. What's the premise? Is this a reality show or fiction/drama?

I meant to set my Tivo for that show once I read an article about it. I'll set it for next week, but I hope they air the pilot at some other time slot so I can catch it. Glad to hear you liked it, hope it's one of the few shows that will make it an entire season.

I thought it was OK, but the 'mysterious creature' plotline seemed stupid to me. Mrs. FlyinM and I thought that if the characters were developed right, you still could have an interesting show without the 'soap opera' unbelievable stuff. I guess I'm spoiled by the reality shows.

Looks like you're not alone Kaiser...:
(icing on the cake: it beat out a Dr. Phil special!!!)

Viewers Find 'Lost'

After being lost in a ratings wilderness for years, ABC surprisingly found itself beating its competitors with a new drama Wednesday night, ironically titled Lost. In the 8:00 p.m. hour, the series opener pulled an 11.6 rating and a 19 share, well above the 7.9/13 scored by second-place CBS with its Dr. Phil special. The new show also performed strongly among the key 18-49 demographic group with a 6.8/20. Meanwhile, in the first head-to-head match between CBS's CSI: New York and NBC's Law & Order at 10:00, CBS was the clear winner with a 12.1/20, while NBC settled for a 10.7/17.
