I started mine in earnest today, and it's days like today that make me appreciate being anal retentive with my financial recordskeeping (and realize where I need to pick up the slack as well). I'm maybe two-thirds finished with my spreadsheet that I'll use to fill out the necessary forms, and I'm already looking at a PHAT refund. Ah, the benefits of being in school AND working a media-based job that serves as the basis of need for things like, oh I dunno, DVDs, CDs, and computer equipment

Got another couple hours of work to do over the coming week, but I should be done no later than the end of the month. Anyone else?

did mine two weeks ago thanks to TurboTax. i've used the software the last 4 years and it imports all the W-2 info automatically. can't say i've used any other program, but i really like TurboTax.

we didn't bring in as much income as the last few years, so we're getting a nice return this year. looks like i'll be gettin a new driveway this spring.

A new driveway. Nice. Hopefully I'll be getting something to put in that driveway if all goes the way it looks right now

spent about 4 hours doing mine yesterday. it's strange because i'm usually really up to date on using technology when it become available, but, for some reason when it comes to taxes, i still just prefer the pencil and a calculator. they were tought this year though. had a job change last year and was put on as a contractual, sold off some crap stock i bought about 5 years ago, so, had to do the 1040, schedule, A, B, C, D, D-1, and SE. was not fun.......

I e-filed two weeks ago. I've already gotten my refund and ordered a cable crossover machine with part of it.

How much of a refund should I expect to get? We filed married jointly for the first time, and bought a house and paid only interest this year, but we are getting back less than last year.

Oh, we make between 70 - 80k combined, and we are getting back a little under 3900. Does that sound right?

Sweet, just finished compiling the spreadsheet. However, I also tried running through an e-filing, and my return was WAY lower than what I think it should be, so going to exploit my student status and get some REALLY cheap (yet good) tax prep done in the next few days. Frigging deductions...
