Cupid clocking overtime in U.S. workplace

NEW YORK (Reuters) - It's the economy, Cupid.
The number of young Americans meeting, dating and marrying fellow workers is on the rise in the United States, as more singles than ever work ever-longer hours, says a new report.
Outplacement firm Challenger, Gray, and Christmas said the number of single, employed Americans had risen 18.3 percent to 58,948,000 in the last decade, and they are spending more time working, cutting the chances of meeting people elsewhere.
Today's office has replaced the 1990s workout gym and the 1980s singles bar as a place to meet new people, said James Pedderson, Challenger's director of public relations.
An earlier poll by the American Management Association showed nearly a third of employees surveyed had dated someone from work, and that 44 percent of those couples had married.
All of the girls I had crushes on in high school were coworkers. However, they were always too good for my fat ass. I always like the girls that are really cool and really hot; i.e. the ones taken.

my boyfriend and i met at work, and continue to work together. we've been together almost 2 years and still going strong. we used to be in the same department together but we both slowly migrated over to a different department-- it's worked ok for us
if it's your career it is probably not a good idea. if it turns bad they can pull the harrassment card etc. it can just be a mess. however, it it's just a job, then why not chance it. where I work dating someone at work it strictly prohibited and can be a fireable offense.
