OK - so I was thinking of putting together a mix CD or two for my girl to give her on Valentine's (among other things - I ain't THAT cheap...). Figured it might be nice. So, I started putting together a list of any and all lovey type songs that I know and maybe even kind of like. I am looking for any and all ideas! I would like to preface this by saying that, in reality, I listen to normal, good music. This is crappy/cheesy music. But, V-day is a chick holiday, so bear with me and, if possible, throw out more ideas -- Thanks!!

rod stewart - broken arrow
bryan adams - heaven
peter, paul, mary - leavin' on a jet plane
jessica simpson - take my breath away
cheap trick - the flame
bette middler - the rose
U2 - with or without you
AZ Yet - and if I fall
janet jackson - again
fleetwood mac - silver springs
shakira - underneath your clothes
peter gabriel - in your eyes
enrique - hero
u2 - all i want is you
mariah carey - against all odds
air supply - making love out of nothing at all
willie nelson - always on my mind
whitney houston - all at once
david grey - this year's love
billy joel - this is the time

Any additions??? I would love to hear recommendations on older music - billie holiday, ella fitzgerald, etc etc...if possible...thanks again!

Can't go wrong with Marvin Gaye or any other Motown. Stevie Wonder, Delfonics, Aretha etc...

Yeah, I know what he sounds like - good voice - BUT something tells me you're not in a tizzy about his voice. Do you speak all 3 of those languages?

You look totally different in that pic.... that's you? Amazing how a little thing like hair curl can totally change a look. Looking hot either way, C. How 'bout posting your progress (in lbs lost or percentages, not absolute numbers)?

No prob. Congrats on the progress. It's noticeable in the new pic. I understand the reticence. It took a lot for me to post my intermediate progress pic in my own training thread. Keep up the good work - make that fiancee feel like he doesn't deserve you.

there's so many billie holiday ones.

"embraceable you"
"i'm yours"
"there is no greater love"
"somebody's on my mind"

there's entire albums worth of her stuff that would be fitting.

Wow Vin and Kaiser you have a pretty good list there.

Vin, how about some country love songs

Don Williams:
a. I believe in you (It really touches me everytime I hear it)
b. You're my bread when I'm hungry..(exactly how love should be.. so fulfilling)

Your girlfriend is one lucky girl to have a thoughtful boyfriend like you.

Sorry.. that is not the song. It is just one line in the song but I tend to remember this line better. The actual song is:

You're my best friend..
