As I understand it, the second airing of the ad was pulled right in the middle of the game by Fox execs (those paragons of modern American virtue, taste and decency). Also, Fox hasn't refunded his $2.4 mill for the second ad that wasn't shown.

I'm not sure why they would do it, considering the risks of what eventually did take place, but that seemed to be the POINT... to play off of last year's fiasco.
Some Super Bowl commercials test the FCC guidelines in order to get the audience's (guys) attention.
Apparently the line is in a different place this year than it was last year.
But the Fox execs said Ok but then changed their mind.
