I saw this post on Men's Health (http://forums.menshealth.com/thread....=true&q=Cormac) and I know a lot of guys on here like to read as well. I also saw Craig was online, so popped your name in the heading.

Anyway, my question--what good books have you read recently or are you reading now.

Recent reads, by category:

Creativity:
The Artist's Way
Responsive Drawing
Kimon Nicolaides Drawing the Natural Way--all time classic (still going through this, one day at a time)

Sales/Profesional:
Power of Full Engagement
Samurai Selling

Good Fiction:
Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane was awesome!!!
Anything by Cormac McCarthy...Blood Meridian is an underrated masterpiece.

Fitness:
Book of Muscle, of course!

Fly Fishing/tying:
Selective Trout
Douglas Jardine's Fly Fishing for Trout
Anything by John Geirach is priceless

I love reading, it sucks I am in college and never get a chance to read on my own. But, here are some good books I have read recently.

Entertainment:
-Anthem by Ayn Rand, it was a quick read and a good book about being an individual.
-Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown
-Anything by Chuck Palahniuk, specifically Survivor or Diary
-I just started Digital Fortress by Dan Brown, and so far its pretty good.

Workout:
-Black Book of Training Secrets by Christian Thib, great book, cheesy title
-Theory and Application of Modern Strength and Power Methods by Christian Thib, I am just starting this one too, it looks pretty awesome so far.
-Alwyn Cosgroves Martial Arts conditioning book. Its awesome and I don't even practice Martial Arts.

If you don't mind my jumping in, I'll continue to hype Into the Wild by John Krakauer. Incredible story of a rich white kid who takes off to live off the land and find what life is really about. The book still sticks with me today

If it's anything like Into Thin Air, I am putting it on my list.

Uh oh Kaiser...you share the mind of a madman. I'd end it now if I were you

Someone on MH talked about Killing Pablo as a great 'beach read'. When I was in the outer banks last summer I read that book. Funny thing, the History Channel had the story on last Saturday...there is a fascinating story..the first time the US put our Delta Force to work.

Also, if you REALLY want a fascinating book, Paris 1919 about the treaty of versailles. As the powers that be create new countries such as...Iraq..!..and others it is an interesting look at our history. This is a tidbit off the jacket that I still find equally amazing 'A kitchen aid at the hotel where the allies met submitted a petition for a free Vietnam. His name: Ho Chi Minh.

My dad is finishing up 'All the Shah's Men' about our history with the middle east..thats on my list after Flyboys..
Oh, and I promised JP I would read Lying Liars..so that might be mixed in as well
