It is sad that we can't talk about things such as politics without personal attacks, but that is apparently the way things are, so in light of this, I am shutting down the politics forum. I am personally disappointed because for a while I really enjoyed the dialogue. Who knows... Some day I may bring it back. Any attacks on any of these boards will be promptly deleted.

It is sad but better to preserve the civility on the forum.

I think that we should re-open the politics forum, but with a slightly different format. It should be titled 'Canadian Politics'. We can discuss Paul Martin and his Liberal Party, Jack Layton and the NDP, and the new Conservative Party (merger of the PC and Canadian Alliance parties, no leader yet). And that's before we start talking about Quebec separatism or the struggling fisheries industry in the Maritimes.

The drive to Windsor is a mere 30 minutes or so. I have taken in the Canadian Ballet numerous times. I have more than supported the local economy. Not to mention, Sleeman clear is a great low carb beer..knocks the socks of anything we get in the states.

You ever been up to Sudbury Russ?
You didn't happen to smuggle any Cuban cigars back over the border did you???

I once saw them perform in Windsor a number of years ago. I have seen them more recently in Toronto and Ottawa. The performance in Toronto featured quite a few Russian ballerinas
I've never been to Northern Ontario. A number of my colleagues occasionally go there to work for a week or two-- it can be lucrative in what I do. Did you see the big nickel there?
The ballet I saw featured a few french-canadian dancers. Both were very attractive. I've never been to Sudbury but my sister's fiance grew up in the mines there..and he ended up taking mining companies public for a firm on wallstreet..they are moving to Toronto where they are going to live..she is planning on starting a hedge fund focused on distressed debt and he owns a mining brokerage house..
I just wondered if the place was as bleak as he makes it sound.
Tony..
never smuggled any cigars back..but from my office window here I'm looking accross the river at Canada as we speak..Need me to pick you up a few?

Quebec has numerous excellent institutes which train young dancers for the Canadian Ballet. Most are in Montreal.
Do you know what part of the city they are moving to?
I just emailed her, I'll tell you when she writes back..
From listening to their conversation though, I believe some famous open air market is within walking distance. Does this narrow down the area?

Sounds like St Lawrence Market. That's basically right downtown. There are some very nice neighbourhoods near the downtown area.

Whooah, I wonder what the going rate for a box of Montecristo #2's is in CA, I hear the tobacco tax up there is thru the roof.
