After scouring hospitals all over this city, I've finally found one that offers volunteer opportunities on the weekend!

Not that exciting sounding, I know - BUT, it's in the physical therapy department, and volunteer hours are not only a prereq for a masters (or doctorate) in PT, but a great way to get a sense of the field if you are unsure if it's for you(thanks to our very own Bill Hartman for some very sound advice regarding this!).

I'll be working in the outpatient area in the sports related injury department (I'm unsure of the official name) at The Hospital for Joint Disease. One of only two hospitals that offer ANY weekend volunteer opportunities in PT (Bellevue being the other; however they only have one opening and it's already been filled).

Anyway, I shouldn't get ahead of myself as it's not set in stone yet. I've still got to fill out some medical forms and get a letter of reference that basically states that I'm not a slimeball.

OK, that's all for now! When I officially become a PT and also get my CSCS, I'll demand some more respect and attention; until then, don't worry about it!

After seeing how we treat JP, Mejia, and the rest, you think all those fancy letters are going to get you any respect around here?

Great hands on experience. Making you an even greater trainer (approaching Hartman™ certification eventually? ). Congrats!
