So I was doing weighted dips today. I had 30lbs on the belt and was doing 4x5. I train 1-2 sets short of failure for all sets. Anyway, I go to increase the weight on my 3rd set and a trainer walks up to me. I was thinking he was gonna tell me my form sucks and to use bodyweight. But to my suprise, he tells me not to bother adding a ten pound plate(I took off a 5 and was gonna add a 10 for a total of 35lbs). He tells me that I am plenty strong to go and use a 45lbs plate. I was shocked. I told him I was only aiming for 5 reps and not going to failure but he put the confidence in me that I could do this using 45lbs on my belt and I did! Yeah me
Very cool. I remember I always used to do assisted dips, and I was scared to make the transition to bodyweight, especially in front of a gym full of people. This guy came over and told me I could do it no problem. And I did! Sometimes it takes that extra push from someone to get you to believe in yourself. Great job!

Way to go, Rip. It shows you a lot of this stuff is in our heads, isn't it? If we are confident, we can make those additional improvements. Nice work, man.
