Default Sesame Street is 40

It's hard to imagine that it ever actually started. For me and my kids, it always was and always will be...

Who's you favorite? I like Snuffleupagus, myself. or The Count.

Oh, I saw this was the theme on Google today, and wondered why.

My favorite growing up was Oscar the grouch . . why? I don't know. lol

Bert and Ernie were cuties too.

Did you see the Google home page today?

I pretty much missed Sesame Street for me (being 10) and only saw it when babysitting.

I guess I'm one of the few people who remember when it was new. I have no idea how my mom found out about it.

Some people are blown away by the fact that I remember when they introduced the Count. He came along in the 3rd season, I think.

My favorites have to be Bert and Ernie. I loved the pranks Ernie pulled off.

Animal's my favorite. We only allow high-brow humor in my house:

Animal drummer for the house band on the Muppets - was he on Sesame Street too?
I'll admit I know the characters from the Muppets much better than Sesame Street since I did watch them most of the time.

Yeah, Animal was on Sesame Street, usually squeezed between a Smurfette skit and then number time with Red and Boober.

Dangit. Guess he wasn't on Sesame Street. Put me down for Cookie Monster, then.

I like The Count. He's completely nuts, but in a very happy and satisfied way.

I was already 18 back then and never had kids, so I've never watched the show. I was a big Muppets fan, though. The mainstays of my early childhood were Romper Room and Captain Kangaroo.

I'm old enough to remember when Sesame Street was new too (and when it was good). I hate Snuffleupagus, Big Bird, and Ernie. I love the Count, Grover, and Cookie Monster.

Hmm. The earliest memory I have of Sesame Street would be 1990 or 1991, playing some Sesame Street game on the NES. At that point it would have been... 20-22 years old, depending on the time of year this took place. That's obviously not much compared to Bill or anyone else who watched the first season, but the early 20s does seem kinda young to me.
