You can walk into any kindergarten room and see any group of little boys playing.
If you watch them long enough, one or two of the little boys will find some small toy that has been laying on the fringes (previously unnoticed) and start playing with that.
Although this toy held no special interest to the group while it lay there, once it attracts the attention of one, it soon becomes the focus of the group.
The little boys will play with it, and show how what 'they' do with it is the best. All of a sudden this new toy breeds a competition. Who is the best? King of the Hill? Champion of the Universe?
This does not diminish as little boys grow. As a matter of fact, little boys change very little as they grow. The toys change slightly, but that is about all.
This thread is a good example of this reoccurring phenomenon.
I wonder who was the little boy that first started playing with Kettlebells, while all the other little boys were still playing with the Dumbbells???
**All the videos are awesome btw**

Pavel Tsatsouline. When you think about it, it's pretty amazing that one guy started all this. It's a shame it turned into a bit of a cult for a while, but if it hadn't been for Pavel I don't think you'd see guys like Mike Boyle advocating KBs in their training programs.
There aren't many guys who single-handedly created fitness trends that became ubiquitous. There's Spinning -- that was all Johnny G. I guess Paul Chek gets credit for popularizing the use of Swiss balls, with an assist from Juan Carlos Santana.
Maybe the CrossFit guy, Greg Glassman, will eventually get credit for popularizing cross-training with power lifts, Oly lifts, and gymnastics.
I can't think of any more.
Personally, I think I should get credit for killing this thread with a serious answer to a rhetorical question. That's my superpower.

Ugh well, I have to get back to work..
More fun that this thread...
Maybe I will just stick a darning needle in my eye and see if that is more fun...
