Talk about lucky...a baby stroller rolls off the platform just as a train passes and gets run over. The baby survives with nothing but a bump on it's head. Check the video:
I gotta admit I thought it was gonna be more like how OldGuy envisioned it.
Now, I didn't laugh, but I did think, wtf. How can people be so INATTENTIVE on a train platform.
They are goddamn trains, do not mess with them. Pay attention when coming in contact with them. Don't screw around on the platform and pay attention if you are responsible for someone else.

We were standing in front of the fire station on main Street in Wolfville one day when a guy bikes past with a baby in a towed carrier. At the edge of the front apron, the carrier detaches, and luckily does a 'ground loop' towards the truck bays instead of Main Street. The dad is 75 feet ahead, and totally unaware when I called to him. I could just picture him arriving home and looking behind him, then figuring what to tell the wife.

Saw that on the news... kills me to see the mother just rocking there on the platform... x2 on the no sound - I couldn't bear to hear it... Truly a miracle that the baby is ok.

I just wondered how long did it take for the train to pass by and then I assume they had to get the station to pull it even more forward to clear that part of the track -- that must have been an eternity - and then to find the baby OK - wow.
I doubt that they moved the train. And I am sure that there were trained subway people immediately ready to effect the rescue. NYC can be pretty impressive much of the time.
It was. NYC does not have the only trains in the world.
