I'm here! We have a Halloween party every year and we've done lots of different things. I'll try to put some ideas that you can get together pretty quickly.
Here is a game we play every year. It's fun and people are always asking if we are playing, so we do. Super easy to put together, too.
- The winking murderer game - The idea of this game is that you put slips of paper into a hat or something for people to pick out of as they come to your party.
One slip of paper says this:
Congratulations! You are tonights murderer and you have the nights easiest role! Your job is to “kill” everyone at the party before the night is over. You will do this by winking at them. Be sly, cautious, & subtle. Everyone knows there is a killer on the loose. So, they may try to avoid eye contact with you.
Your victims will have 3 minutes, after being winked at to die.Therefore, you have time to flee the crime scene, get a good seat, and enjoy watching them die…(they have a pre-determined death in their hands).
Then you have various slips of paper say this: BEWARE!!!
There is a winking killer amongst us.
Yes, you read correctly…winking! Before the night is over, the murderer will make eye contact with you and wink one eye. This means you have just been killed! You have 3 minutes from the time you are winked at, to re-enact your death.
So, the more creative, dramatic, and visible the death…the better we will remember you by.
Once you have been killed, do not reveal the killer.
Ideas we use: death by hula-hoop /cheerleading to death/
Elvis possesses your body and rock-n-roll to death/ death by bees
rodeo to death/ breakdancing to death
You get the idea. I have a ton more ideas, if you want them - pm me. This is fun, because people will really stop making eye contact with people, because they are scared they will get winked at. We give a prize to the last person alive, the winker and the best death actor.
Prizes - We have always done gift cards and last year we actually made trophies. We do a costume contest and start handing ballots out with the following categories: funniest, scariest, prettiest, most original
Honestly, people ALWAYS leave the gift cards so we aren't doing them anymore. Go to a party shop or even a Target and get the ribbons. People love to win! As hosts, even though we win something every year, we never accept that. We like to see our guests win the prizes.
Food - We always do meatballs in the crockpot because they are so easy. Big bag of meatballs, bbq and my special ingredient is a jar of grape jelly. They are always the first to go.

I've tried the gross looking, halloween food but I am not one who likes to eat creepy looking food and I have seen people not eat it. One of my friends made that kitty litter cake and no one ate it. It was gross looking, lol.
I always make jello shots. Lots and lots of jello shots.
Decorations - I have a ton of ideas on this, but this could take a while. We decorate our entire house. Lots of those white cob webs are always good. We use red, green and purple Christmas lights. I also change out all the light bulbs in the house with either orange, red, blue, green, yellow bulbs. You can get those black light bulb, but they are waaay overpriced and give off no light. You don't want your guests falling or anything and the other colored bulbs are cool. Home improvement stores like Lowe's or Home Depot have them out. I normally find them in the Christmas light area. We also use a lot of candles. Tea lights, etc.
