Default Has anyone reglazed tiles and a bathtub?

I'm wondering because we are getting ready to sell my dad's house, and starting to do some general repairs and a little facelift. The bathroom is the ONLY full bath in the house, and it's small. By small I mean...two people in there and it's crowded. The tub desperately needs to be reglazed and the tiles and pepto pink with a black border. I am trying to make the house a little more sellable. Being as it's the ONLY bathroom, my thoughts are that it should look as clean as possible...and neutral, hence wanting to re-glaze the tiles white.

Has anyone had this done? Were you satisfied with the re-glazing? Is is worth it?

Any and all opinions are appreciated!

Don't know anything about reglazing.

We have the same tile, except pink and mauve. Definitely too thick too try to remove. We looked into different options but ultimately decided to keep it and de-emphasize it with wall paint, new vanity, towels, etc.

Don't know much about reglazing. There are sites that claim there are effective techniques to paint the tile, but they warn against trying to do it in showers because there is just too much moisture.

On the plus side, if the houses in the neighborhood are all the same vintage, they probably all have the same pink tile (yellow and black if they got lucky). At least, that's been our experience. Somebody who wants to buy in that neighborhood has probably already come to terms with having a bright pink bathroom.

We were told a similar thing, it's probably better to leave the tile where it lies! I am guessing I'll just be decorating around it...I am trying to keep the look of when the house was originally built...so...maybe it's best!

Ooooo pink and mauve...lucky! I guess I'll be visiting the target website for some curtain/towell ideas........... Thanks for commiserating at least!

My research showed the same problems as the above poster.

We're ripping out our gray and maroon tile soon. Next, the pink and blue. I made it a Spongebob room 'cause I couldn't think of any other unifying theme that my kids would live with (Flowers are OUT).

My sister just did this to her bathroom and loves it! http://www.rebath.com/the-re-bath-process

They didn't want to rip out the tub and tile, so they just covered it.
