If I had to pick from the choices listed, I would go with the Big Mac. They're a classic. But, I would rather have a really good high-quality burger. So, burger snob who would eat a Big Mac.
I've never had a Big Mac. I think the "special sauce" frightens me.
But I can go for a triple Whataburger or a Wendy's triple.
I don't think the Bonus Jack is available here (we do have Jack in the Box locations but they don't serve them). Hardee's is in our area -- I should check them out sometime.
Do you hear that? In the distance? It's an impending bulk.

Lucky for you the greatest distance you'd have to drive to get one is 145 miles.
Quote:
For maximum McSparseness, we look westward, towards the deepest, darkest holes in our map: the barren deserts of central Nevada, the arid hills of southeastern Oregon, the rugged wilderness of Idaho’s Salmon River Mountains, and the conspicuous well of blackness on the high plains of northwestern South Dakota. There, in a patch of rolling grassland, loosely hemmed in by Bismarck, Dickinson, Pierre, and the greater Rapid City-Spearfish-Sturgis metropolitan area, we find our answer.
Between the tiny Dakotan hamlets of Meadow and Glad Valley lies the McFarthest Spot: 107 miles distant from the nearest McDonald’s, as the crow flies, and 145 miles by car!
That is odd. All this time I thought you lived in AMERICA!
You haven't had ranch dressing? Really?????[/IMG]
Nope; not that I can remember. I just eat salad dry, and if I wanted a special sauce on a burger I go for barbeque, and for fries all I need is melted cheese!
And I've never used ranch as a dip for raw veggies because I don't really eat raw veggies.

I've never been a real fan of cream-based sauces (or things like it), so when I had to pick it would be Wendy's or Harvey's - because they ask what you want and you actually get what you ask for. Even in my regular drive-through days I gave up on BK because asking for no mayo didn't mean you got it that way.
The only burgers I bother with now though are homemade ones (beef/turkey blend with an egg for binding and garlic pepper and seasoned salt).
Maybe I'm a snob... I just don't see any appeal in McDonald's at all. I don't think the food tastes very good. If I had to have a chain fast-food burger, I'd go to Wendy's, or maybe BK.
And I live only about a mile and a half away from this place which has absolutely awesome burgers. And the peanut butter shake kicks butt, too.

I'm with Lisa--In and Out rules. Sorry, non-Southern-Californians.
Whenever I find myself in California (not just Southern, I've been to one in San Francisco) or Vegas, I make it a point to swing by In-N-Out. all total I've probably consumed maybe 15 to 20 Double-Double's in my life time, and I can say that none of them were anywhere near as dry as the one in the ad pic.
Whataburger is the local equivalent and damned tasty. I've actually barred myself from the establishment, haven't had one in probably a year and a half. Keeping fast food burger consumption to a geographically restrictive option is helpful in keeping the calories down.

Anne, this made me think of when I went to BK for the last time. I already had some problems with their service and the people who worked in the local BK. But that day I had just had a doctor appointment and was feeling awful anyway, so went through the drive-thru to get my son's lunch on the way home. I ordered a chicken nugget kids meal, got all the way home (9 miles), opened the sack and everything was in the bag except the chicken nuggets. So, yeah, haven't been back since and it's been 10 years.
As to the original topic, we have cows through FIL's ranch, so if I'm eating somewhere that isn't home, I am not eating a burger. Partly because the burger at home is always better and partly because I want to eat something I don't always have the option to eat when I'm not at home.
The Bonus Jack is okay but don't think I'll order it again. There are other, far bigger and tastiers burgers on the menu there. When I go fast food I go all the way.
