Default Best Headphones for working out (comfort/durability)

Hey everyone, its been a while, but figured this was a good place to post an otherwise random question i had haha.

I've been through 2-3 headphones this past year since they usually get a little tweaked( from water damage/sweat) and give out on me. I usually have 'in ear' headphones and realize the out of ear type would be less susceptible to water damage, but they also are a lot louder for those working out around me/ they bounce around and dont always stay on.

Any ideas or suggestions on headphones that my last, or am i just looking at buying a new pair every few months ?

I sprung for Bang and Olufsen and have been happy with mine for years....worth more than my ipod, though.

I really don't wear headphones when working out, but if I did, I'd put on my trusty Sennheiser PX-100's.

I've never had the phones part go out, generally for me the cord/wire gets tweaked and I lose a channel unless the cord is "just right".
Don't have any suggestions except to weigh the relative expense for "workout" headphones - I'd hate to tweak an expensive pair if I can go through 2-3 pairs cheap-but-acceptable per year at 1/4 of the total cost of nice 'phones.

yupp, ive had the wire/cord problem before too. i found that there are a few things that tend to cause that:
- when the headphones are plugged in make sure not to wrap the cord around the ipod or your arm or anything where it would create tension/a bend right above the phone jack where the wire starts.
-try not to wrap the headphones in a circle and putting them in a bag or pockets or anything either, that usually creates unnecessary wear and tear on the wire. you can get a cheap pair of headphones(ive learned now haha) for 2-3$ that come with the case that wraps them inside. that should be a worthy investment for prolonging head phone life.

as for my own problem, thanks for the input guys. ill check out the ones recommended to use with my electronic drums probably, but for working out, it looks like low priced headphones are my best option.

^^ oh I know what causes it - just things that are likely to happen (for me) in a gym or out walking the dogs - so I just go for the least expensive that protect the hearing adequately and save the good phones for less active use.

I've been using the white ear buds that came with my ipod for years. Some people complain they fall out, but I never had any problem and they were 'free'

I've tried the in-ear ones a few times and I just can't get used to them.

I've got cheap-o KOSS Sparkplug earbuds. They are a little bass heavy, but they stay in your ears. The warning I give you is that they do knock out a ton of ambient sound because they are ear plugs with holes for the sound to come through. I use them working out, on airplanes, and mowing the lawn. For a noise dampening reference, they took my lawn mowing from 100% volume to 25% on my ipod.
