Default Soap Issues

I am curious if anyone has a similar problem as I do. I shower at the gym and use bar soap, keeping it in one of those travel soap containers. My problem is that my soap will often end up soft and mushy. I have considered just using body wash, but then I would either need to bring a luffa or wash cloth which both have a downside. The luffa would need some sort of storage container and beyond a plastic bag I can not think of anything that would work nicely. The wash cloth adds another item I have to remember and increase my wash load. So I am asking for some advice on either a good type of bar soap that stays solid, a practical storgae container for a luffa or other tips. I may just need a soap container that has some sort of ventilation, as that may prevent the soap from softening my allowing the moisture to leave. Thanks for the input.

1) When you get home, open the soap container and let it dry out. Make it as much a part of your routine as taking care of the wet towel.

2) You don't HAVE to have a loofah or whatever with body wash. Just apply it with your hands as you would bar soap.

I am lucky enough to have small and large towels supplied at my gym. I use a small towel as a wash cloth and use a hydrating body wash. When I used bar soap I liked the Dove Exfolating bar and when I was done drying of I would use my towel to dry my soap off as well as the travel container I kept it in. Final option buy your bar soap at Costco or Sam's Club and don't worry about wasting a little.

I like the drying off the soap and container with the towel technique. Just take the towel home and wash it anyway, right. . That should work, feel stupid for not having thought of that. I actually used to use body wash/ shampoo 2 in 1 and lather it up in my hair and just use my hands to scrub. Just never liked that method. Thanks for the ideas on such a simple/stupid topic.

I've found that a zip lock sandwich bag works much better than a plastic soap container...too many times I've had the plastic container open up and make a mess in my gym bag. With the sandwich bag you can seal it, and if the soaps gets too mushy just toss the whole thing in the trash.
