Default Reaching out for advice - Discounttires.com???

Has anyone ever bought tires from this website? They are considerably cheaper than what I can get them from special order from Wal-Mart (even with my wife's discount - 103.50 with no shipping charge vs. 89.03 with shipping).

Thing is, I don't have to pay on-line with WalMart ; I can pay in the store upon arrival. Then pay for the installation. I see this as a plus. Also, I've went this route with Walmart before and the tires took weeks to get delivered.

At discounttires I have to pay on-line and then they are shipped. Shouldn't be a big deal on installation for me so that's not a concern. They say shipping should be about 3-4 days.

Total for four tires I'm looking at 414.00 plus install price at Walmart (or I guess I could install them myself there too.
vs.
356.12 for all four at this web site.

Has anyone had any experience with this website? Advice on what to do?

Thanks everybody.

*edit* not that it really matters, but just in case someone cares; it's a BFGoodrich Traction T/A 225/60/16 T rated.

I always get my tires from them and then have Walmart mount them for me. They are quick and easy to deal with....no problems. And, I have always gotten the best price.

I have ordered from Tire Rack before, and it works ok. Generally though, you will end up about even with what you would get at a shop once you pay for mounting and balancing. I know places like Discount Tire (the store, not the website) will generally match prices.

Funny, I just ordered new tires from tirerack.com They shipped same day and showed up earlier than they originally estimated. I just had them shipped to a local place that I get all my car work done.

Seems like alot of people stateside treat tyres as a separate entity to the rest of their car maintenance.

I have my car full checked out once per year (called the MOT) and just have the garage source and fit my tyres. The whole idea of buying tyres, getting them shipped to you, then letting somebody fit and balance them seems totally alien to me.

I change all four tyres once per year, all in one go, £200 for the whole thing. Job done. I guess we don't have the extreme weather fluctuations so one set does a whole year; actually longer but I like to be on the safe side
