Like a voluntary gps system letting everyone know where you are and what you are doing. LOL
I can hear the sound of my free time being sucked away, so I have not even tried it.

pfft! It's not like you READ people's tweets. You just tweet your randomness. Easy peasy.
Those are the people I DON"T follow... oh, your cat just threw up? Who the fuck cares!

That's what most people think Twitter is all about (myself included before I got into it). There are a lot of interesting people on there, and the ones who just post about themselves are the ones no one pays attention to. People share a lot of great articles, links, photos, video and insights on Twitter. Those are the people that others pay attention to. Like I said above. Your cat just threw up? No one cares!

It'd be more actually useful if more rl friends used it. Great way of "passively" coodinating stuff. Now it mainly updates my fb status or lets me dm Otto. (or accedently post randomness that was meant for an im window.)
I am trying twitter. I am not 100% sold on it, but I am now following.
Time will tell.

Been thinking about it but I'm not sure what the diff is between it and facebook. Can someone elaborate? Is it basically just the update status part of FB?

After the latest FB update, there practically is no difference

Lots of good S&C info out there on Twitter. I use it to connect with other coaches. Though I primarily use it as a networking tool, there are a ton of S&C enthusiasts on Twitter. Any coaches using it who would like to connect with me can follow me at www.twitter.com/coachbook. If you have no clue what Twitter is, I wrote a blog on how Twitter can help sport coaches:
MAXX - Just wanted to offer you a quick word of advice: Unlock your blog so anyone can view the posts.
I'm getting a message right now saying I have to be a member to view it. I can understand providing some incentive to get people to sign-up (ie. the benefit of reading your great stuff), but what ends up happening is most people don't bother signing up OR seeing your articles, so you've actually lost on two fronts. If you let people read your stuff, the may like it so much that they sign up for the site. A double-win.
The more you give away, the more people are interested in what you're offering.

Chris--thanks for letting me know it was locked. Everything on my site is supposed to be open to non-members. Not sure why Blogs are locked, but i am pissed.....I'll let you know when I figure out why it's locked. Here I've been posting this link to my blog for weeks, thinking I'm helping people with my posts, and instead I look like an ass......
Ok, the blog is unlocked.....don't get too excited--don't want to let you down with my amateur writing I am trying to put together a master list of pro and college sport coaches who are using Twitter........
